Isaiah Battle
Isaiah Battle (born February 10, 1993) is an American football offensive tackle for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the fifth round of the 2015 Supplemental Draft and played college football at Clemson. Professional career Battle declared for the NFL Supplemental Draft, claiming that it was in his best interest. It was later stated that Battle had committed his "third and final strike" as the reason he declared for supplemental draft. He was originally given a third round grade by many draft experts. On July 7, 2015, Battle held his Pro Day with 26 teams in attendance. The National Football League Draft, also called the NFL Draft or (officially) the Player Selection Meeting, is an annual event which serves as the league's most common source of player recruitment. Each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative to its record in the previous year, which means that the last place team is positioned first and the Super Bowl champion is last. From this position, the team can either select a player or trade its position to another team for other draft positions, a player or players, or any combination thereof. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured.
