Isaia Walker-Leawere
Isaia Walker-Leawere (born 16 July 1997) is a New Zealand rugby union player who plays as a lock for the in Super Rugby and in New Zealand's domestic National Provincial Championship competition. Early life and career Walker-Leawere hails from Ruatoria, in the Gisborne Region in the northeastern corner of New Zealand's North Island. He's the son of Kele Leawere, who played as a lock for Fiji. He attended and played First XV rugby for Gisborne Boys' High School. In 2014 and 2015, he played for the U18 team. As an 18-year-old, Walker-Leawere played one game for in the Heartland Championship (on 29 August 2015 against ). Senior career In 2016, Walker-Leawere moved to Wellington after being contracted by the Wellington Rugby Football Union. Ruatoria
Ruatoria ( mi, Ruatōria) is a town in the Waiapu Valley of the Gisborne Region in the northeastern corner of New Zealand's North Island. The town was originally known as Cross Roads then Manutahi and was later named Ruatorea in 1913, after the Māori Master female grower ''Tōrea'' who had some of the finest storage pits in her Iwi at the time (Te-Rua-a-Tōrea ). In 1925 the name was altered to "Ruatoria", although some texts retain the original spelling. Ruatoria's Whakarua Park is the home of the East Coast Rugby Football Union. Heartland Championship
The Heartland Championship competition, known for sponsorship reasons as the Bunnings Warehouse Heartland Championship, is a domestic rugby union competition in New Zealand. It was founded in 2006 as one of two successor competitions to the country's former domestic competition, the National Provincial Championship (NPC). The country's 27 provincial teams were split into two separate competitions. Thirteen of the original teams, plus one merged side created from two other teams, entered the new top-level professional competition, the Air New Zealand Cup (later known as the ITM Cup, Mitre 10 Cup and currently the NPC). 2017 Oceania Rugby Under 20 Championship
The 2017 Oceania Rugby Under 20s, was the third edition of the Oceania Rugby Junior Championship. The competition was expanded from the previous season with and joining and hosts at Bond University on the Gold Coast. The Oceania Championship was played over three rounds in nine days, with New Zealand defeating Australia by 43–6 in the last match of the round-robin tournament on 6 May 2017, to take the title. 2016 Super Rugby Season
The 2016 Super Rugby season was the 21st season of Super Rugby and the first season featuring an expanded 18-team format. It was also the first season that teams outside Australia, New Zealand and South Africa featured, with the Jaguares from Argentina and the Sunwolves from Japan taking part. This season also saw the return of the Kings, who competed just once before, in the 2013 Super Rugby season.
