Camila Ferezin
Camila Ferezin (born 18 April 1977) is a former rhythmic gymnast and the current coach of the Brazilian national senior group. In her gymnast career, she was a member of the group that won Brazil's first Pan American Games gold medal in 1999, she also competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Career As a child Camila and her sister Alessandra, who would also be a member of the group at the 2000 Olympics, watched rhythmic gymnastics trainings while waiting for their parents to pick them up from school. Soon after she started training under Elizabeth Laffranchi in Londrina. In 1989 she was already national champion in groups. Her first major appearance came in 1991, when she was called up to compete in the Pan American Games in Havana, even though she was still competing in the junior division. Rhythmic Gymnast
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform individually or in groups on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and rope. The sport combines elements of gymnastics, dance and calisthenics; gymnasts must be strong, flexible, agile, dexterous and coordinated. Rhythmic gymnastics is governed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), which first recognized it as a sport in 1963. At the international level, rhythmic gymnastics is a women-only sport. Rhythmic gymnastics became an Olympic sport in 1984, when the individual all-around event was first competed, and the group competition was also added to the Olympics in 1996. 2014 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships
The 2014 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, the 33rd edition, was held in İzmir, Turkey, from September 21 to 28, 2014 at the İzmir Halkapınar Sport Hall. Yana Kudryavtseva of the Russian Federation became the youngest rhythmic gymnast to win back-to-back individual all-around titles in the World Championships at 16 years old. She was also awarded the Longines Prize for elegance, which saw her receive $5,000, a statue by Swiss artist Jean-Pierre Gerber, and a watch.
