Isador M. Sheffer
Isador Mitchell Sheffer (October 15, 1901–April 20, 1992) was an American mathematician best known for the Sheffer sequence of polynomials. George David Birkhoff (March 21, 1884 – November 12, 1944) was an American mathematician best known for what is now called the ergodic theorem.
