Isabelle Sachet
Isabelle Sachet (née Crolas) (born 1958) is a French Polynesian politician and former Cabinet Minister who served in the government of Édouard Fritch. She is a member of the Tapura Huiraatira. Sachet worked as a teacher, and then as a school principal. In February 2001 she was made a chevalier of the Ordre des Palmes académiques. She was first elected to the Assembly of French Polynesia in the 2013 French Polynesian legislative election as a representative of the Tahoera'a Huiraatira. In the 2014 municipal elections she headed the Tahoera'a Huiraatira list in Faaa, losing by a wide margin to Oscar Temaru. In December 2015 she quit the Tahoera'a party to join Édouard Fritch's Tapura Huiraatira, citing the need to give Fritch a majority. She was re-elected to the Assembly in the 2018 election. Édouard Fritch
Winfred Édouard Tereori Fritch (born 4 January 1952) is a French politician who has served as President of French Polynesia since 2014. He previously presided over the Assembly of French Polynesia on three occasions: from April 2007 to February 2008, from February 2009 to April 2009 and from May 2013 to September 2014. Until 2015, Fritch was co-president of Tahoera'a Huiraatira, a pro-French political party, before he became president of the newly-established Tapura Huiraatira. He became a member of the Assembly of French Polynesia in 1986. He was reelected in 1991, 1996, 2001, 2004, 2008 and 2013. He served as a cabinet minister in French Polynesia several times between 1984 and 2011. From 1996 to 2004, from 2004 to 2005, in 2008 and again from 2009 to 2011, he served as Vice President of French Polynesia under his father-in-law Gaston Flosse. 2018 French Polynesian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in French Polynesia on 22 April and 6 May 2018. On 22 April 2018, voters cast their ballots in the first round of the election to the Assembly of French Polynesia. A second round was held on 6 May 2018 for the three political parties that exceeded 12.5 percent of the vote in the first round. The new Tapura Huiraatira party emerged as the largest in the Assembly, winning 38 of the 57 seats. Background The Tahoera'a Huiraatira party, an anti-independence party led by Gaston Flosse, previously won 38 of the 57 seats in the Assembly in the 2013 general election. However, the governing Tahoera'a Huiraatira has been plagued by infighting and internal splits since 2013. Elections to the Assembly of French Polynesia are scheduled to be held in 2023 in order to elect 57 representatives to the Assembly of French Polynesia. The last election was in 2018. Teva Rohfritsch
Teva Rohfritsch (born 3 February 1975) is a French Polynesian politician and former Cabinet Minister. Since 2020 he has been one of French Polynesia's two senators in the French Senate, sitting with the Rally of Democrats, Progressives and Independents. Rohfritsch is a former director of Socredo bank. He was first appointed to French Polynesia's Council of Ministers as tourism minister in November 2003. In 2005 he was economics minister. Following the 2008 French Polynesian legislative election he was appointed finance minister. In Oscar Temaru's 2009 administration he was appointed Minister of Maritime Resources. In April 2009 he was suspended from Tahoera'a Huiraatira after refusing to quit Temaru's government. He left the party two days later. Oscar Temaru
Oscar Manutahi Temaru (born November 1, 1944) is a French politician. He has been President of French Polynesia (''président de la Polynésie française''), an overseas collectivity of France, on five occasions: in 2004, from 2005 to 2006, from 2007 to 2008, in 2009, and from 2011 to 2013 and mayor of Faa'a since 1983. Career He first served as the President of French Polynesia (''président de la Polynésie française'') from June 15, 2004 until his Government lost a no-confidence motion on October 8, 2004.
