Irwin Ávalos Bonilla (born 13 June 1991) is a Mexican basketball player for Plateros de Fresnillo and the Mexico national team. Professional career Ávalos returned to his hometown and joined the Águilas Doradas de Durango ahead of the 2017 CIBACOPA season. Ávalos signed with the Reyes de Durango of the Circuito de Baloncesto del Pacífico (CIBAPAC) ahead of the 2023 CIBAPAC season. Ávalos signed with the Plateros de Fresnillo in August 2023. The Pacific Coast Basketball Circuit ( or CIBACOPA), officially known as the Liga Chevron CIBACOPA for sponsorship reasons, is a ten team basketball league based in Northwestern Mexico. The matches take place from March to June. History A league with the same name existed in the 1980s, and the second incarnation was founded in 2001. The Pacific Basketball Circuit ( or CIBAPAC) is a semi-professional basketball league based in Northwestern Mexico. It was founded in 2015 with the purpose of developing young talent from the region. The league began with four charter members from Sinaloa and Durango but has since grown to include teams from across the country. As of 2023, there were 31 teams from 10 states. The 2017 FIBA AmeriCup was the 18th edition of the FIBA AmeriCup, which is the main tournament for senior men's basketball national teams of the FIBA Americas.
