Nowshahr () is a city in the Central District of Nowshahr County, Mazandaran province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. It is a port city on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. History Ruyan is a region in the west of Mazandaran province. This land includes Kojur, Kalārestāq and Tonekabon.
