''Iron Front'' is the fourth studio album by American punk rock band Strike Anywhere. The album was released worldwide on October 6, 2009. Background On May 20, 2009, Punknews.org reported that the band had signed to Bridge 9 Records. Founder Chris Wrenn had been a long-term fan of the band since their debut EP. Barnett said the label had a "cool combination of hardcore roots and culture, a love for the life and message", which was what caught their attention of the label. The following week, the band started recorded their next album at Salad Days Studios with producer Brian McTernan. The process wrapped up in June 2009. Release In June 2009, the band toured Canada and the US Midwest with Propagandhi. On July 3, 2009, ''Iron Front'' was announced for release in three months' time. Strike Anywhere
Strike Anywhere is an American punk rock band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1999 after the demise of frontman Thomas Barnett's previous band, Inquisition, they took their name from the Inquisition song "Strike Anywhere". Their music is characterized by fast tempos, catchy melodies, and emotionally charged vocals delivered via shouting and singing. Dead to Me is an American punk rock band from San Francisco, California, United States, founded by vocalist/guitarist Jack Dalrymple, drummer Brandon Pollack (both from the band One Man Army) and bassist/vocalist Chicken of Western Addiction. Early on, Pollack was replaced by Chicken's cousin Ian Anderson on drums and Nathan Grice joined as a second guitarist. Shortly after the band's second release "Little Brother", Dalrymple left the band to focus on raising his newborn child and to make a full-time commitment as a member of the Swingin' Utters. Guitarist Nathan Grice took over Jack's vocal duties in his absence. After touring and recording as a three-piece for about two years, guitarist Nathan Grice left the band. Reading And Leeds Festivals
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Headliners and most supporting acts typically play at both sites, with Reading's Friday line up becoming Leeds' Saturday line-up, Reading's Saturday line-up playing at Leeds on Sunday, and Leeds' Friday line-up attending Reading on Sunday. Bane (band)
Bane was an American hardcore punk band that began in 1995 as a side project between Aaron Dalbec (then of Converge) and Damon Bellorado. Dalbec approached Matt Firestone to sing and they played under the moniker of Gateway for a few shows, before Firestone parted ways to focus on other projects. Dalbec then approached Aaron Bedard (who had previously sung for the Worcester, Massachusetts hardcore band Backbone) about singing for Bane. They went into the studio in December 1995 with a few friends and released a five-song demo. The next year saw the release of their first EP, and many shows throughout central Massachusetts. In early 1997, Bane released ''Free to Think, Free to Be'' EP, and in 1998 the band released the ''Holding This Moment'' 7" and CD collection, and embarked upon their first US tour. Pennywise is an American punk rock band from Hermosa Beach, California, formed in 1988. The band took its name from the antagonist in Stephen King's horror novel '' It'' known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Groezrock
Groezrock was an annual music festival that took place in Meerhout, Belgium. It started as a small rock and pop festival with one stage and a few hundred people attending, but evolved into a large punk rock/hardcore punk festival, with attendances exceeding 30,000. The festival had one stage until 2003, when it added a second stage called Back-to-Basics, which was reserved for more hardcore-oriented bands. Since 2006 the festival has taken place over multiple days, and grew to three stages in 2009 and four stages in 2012. It was announced in October 2017 that the 2018 edition of Groezrock would not be taking place in the Spring, and would instead be an indoor festival in the autumn.
