Iron Cross is the name of two fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history The Helmut Gruler version of Iron Cross first appears in '' The Invaders'' #35 (Dec. 1978) and was created by Roy Thomas and Don Heck. The Clare Gruler version of Iron Cross first appeared in ''All-New Invaders'' #9 (Aug. 2014) and was created by James Robinson and Steve Pugh. Fictional character biography Helmut Gruler Helmut Gruler is a World War II German soldier that first appears in the title '' Invaders''. Gruler volunteers to wear armor created by Professor Franz Schneider for use against the Allied forces. An American comic book is a thin periodical literature originating in the United States, commonly between 24 and 64 pages, containing comics. Bucky Barnes
James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Originally introduced as a sidekick to Captain America, the character was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby and first appeared in '' Captain America Comics'' #1 ( cover-dated March 1941) (which was published by Marvel's predecessor, Timely Comics). Barnes' original costume (or one based on it) and the Bucky nickname have been used by other heroes in the Marvel Universe over the years. Earth Lord Earth Sentry Earth Sentry (John Foster) was created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz, and first appeared in ''A-Next'' #2 (1999) in the MC2 universe. When John and his father Bill were investigating a UFO crash site, they discovered a Kree space probe. Upon nearing the ship, the automated defenses activated, and a robotic sentry was released. Bill activated a distress signal which was picked up by Mainframe and the rest of A-Next. When the heroes arrived, a Sentry robot attacked them. Thunderstrike's sonic blasts and J2's superstrength were not slowing the attacker. Stinger was able to blind the robot's optic sensors with sting darts, providing an opening for John to enter the ship and try to turn off the robotic sentry. When John made contact with the ship's console, a strange energy surge ripped through the ship's computers and struck him. Captain America is a superhero created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby who appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Arnim Zola is a supervillain appearing in American comic books by Marvel Comics. He is a master of biochemistry and a recurring enemy of Captain America and the Avengers. The character first appeared in ''Captain America and the Falcon'' #208 (April 1977), and was created by writer/artist Jack Kirby. When he was first introduced, Zola was a Nazi scientist experimenting with genetic engineering during World War II. His skills as a geneticist drew the attention of the Red Skull, who recruited him into Hydra to aid their efforts to create super soldiers. One of his experiments led to the brain of Adolf Hitler being copied into a being later known as Hate-Monger. Later in life, Zola transferred his own mind into a sophisticated robot body which protected it by storing it in its chest and displaying a digital image of Zola's face on its chest plate.
