Antonio Iriondo
Antonio Iriondo Ortega (born 3 November 1953) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a midfielder and is a current manager. He has managed teams such as Rayo Vallecano, CD San Fernando and Rayo Majadahonda in Spain. Playing career Born in Moscow to Spanish parents who, as children, had been sent to Russia in 1937 due to the Spanish Civil War, Iriondo returned to Spain in 1957 at the age of four. He only played lower league football throughout his career, representing CDC Moscardó, CP Amorós, RCD Carabanchel, AD Alcorcón, Valdemoro CF, and Tomelloso CF, retiring with the latter in 1982 at the age of 28. Managerial career Iriondo started his managerial career at AD Villaviciosa de Odón in the regional leagues and moved to CD Móstoles in 1991. Rafael Iriondo
Rafael Iriondo Aurtenetxea (24 October 1918 – 24 February 2016) was a Spanish football forward and manager. He amassed La Liga totals of 285 matches and 89 goals over 15 seasons, with Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad. He subsequently became a manager, working for nearly 30 years and being in charge of both clubs. Club career Born in Guernica, Biscay, Iriondo arrived at Basque giants Athletic Bilbao in 1940, from Atlético Tetuán. He made his La Liga debut on 29 September in a 2–2 away draw against Valencia CF and, during his 13-year spell with the club, would form an historic attacking partnership with Agustín Gaínza, José Luis Panizo and Telmo Zarra, winning the 1942–43 league and four Copa del Generalísimo trophies. Iriondo took part in 332 competitive games for Athletic and scored 116 goals, joining neighbouring Barakaldo CF in 1953. Josu Iriondo (born December 19, 1938) is a Spanish-born American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York from 2001 to 2014. Biography Early life and education One of seven children, Josu Iriondo was born on December 19, 1938, in Legazpi, Spain, to Rufino and Maria Leona (née Zabaleta) Iriondo. He was educated in Spanish, but spoke Basque at home. Iriondo decided to pursue the priesthood and then entered the minor seminary of the Canons Regular of the Lateran in Spain at age 12. He later joined the Canons Regular order, and attended Sagrado Corazon Seminary in Oñati, Spain and the Collegio San Vittore in Rome. Simón De Iriondo
Simón de Iriondo (1836–1883) was an Argentine politician of the National Autonomist Party, who was twice governor of the province of Santa Fe, from 1871 to 1874 and from 1878 to 1882. Iriondo was also the Government Minister of governor Mariano Cabal and part of the cabinet of President Nicolás Avellaneda. After his second term in office, in 1883, he was appointed senator. As a governor, Iriondo supported the policy of colonization, as Santa Fe was scarcely populated at the time except for the large cities of Santa Fe and Rosario on the banks of the Paraná River.
