Irina Gumenyuk
Irina Borisovna Gumenyuk (; born 6 January 1988) is a Russian track and field athlete who competes in the triple jump. She was the silver medallist in the event at the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships. Her triple jump personal best is 14.48 metres, set in 2013. Gumenyuk started out in the long jump. In 2005, she cleared six metres for the first time and placed fifth at the European Youth Olympic Festival. The teenage athlete began to focus on the triple jump in her competitions the following year. In 2007, she had a personal best of 13.55 metres in the event,Irina Gumenyuk IAAF. The women's triple jump at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 13–15 August. Defending champion Olha Saladuha was the leading qualifier, but it took her two attempts to get there. Irina Gumenyuk and world leader Caterine Ibargüen took care of business on their first attempts. Saladuha's former Ukrainian teammate Hanna Knyazyeva-Minenko, now competing for Israel, suffered through two fouls before popping the No. 3 qualifier on her last attempt. Olha Valeriivna Saladukha (, born 4 June 1983) is a Ukrainian former triple jumper. Since the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary election she is a member of the Ukrainian parliament. Biography Saladukha took up athletics at the same club as Sergey Bubka, originally as a sprint hurdler before switching to triple jumping. In 1998 she set a European age-group record of 13.32 meters. Subsequently, she finished fifth at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Athletics. After struggling with injuries for the next two years and briefly retiring from the sport, she made steady progress, finishing fourth at the 2006 European Athletics Championships and winning the gold at the 2007 Summer Universiade with a personal best of 14.79 meters.
