Iqbal Ashhar
Iqbal Ashhar Urdu: اشهر، اقبا Hindi: इक़बाल अशहर (born 26 October 1965) is an Indian Urdu language poet born in Kucha Chelan, Delhi. Iqbal Ashhar is a son of Abdul Lateef and Sakeena Khatoon; his ancestors hailed from Amroha in Western Uttar Pradesh. Early life and education Iqbal Ashhar received his primary education from Shanta Nursery School and secondary education from Ramjas School No.1 (Daryaganj).B.A (Honours) in Urdu from Zakir Husain Delhi College. Performance Iqbal Ashhar began to attend all-India ''mushairas'' in 1998, under the patronage of the late Mauj Rampuri. ''Mushaira'' ( ur, , Mušā'ira) is a poetic symposium. It is an event (called '' mehfil'', Mushairi) where poets gather to perform their works. A mushaira is part of the Culture of North India, Pakistan and the Deccan, particularly among the Hyderabadi Muslims, and it regarded as a forum for free self-expression. Wasim Barelvi
Zahid Hussain (born 18 February 1940), better known by the pen name Wasim Barelvi, is an Indian Urdu-language poet. He was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. His ghazals, many sung by Jagjit Singh, are very popular. He has been awarded with the "Firaq Gorakhpuri International Award", the Kalidas gold medal (by the Haryana government, in recognition for his services in the field of Urdu and Hindi poetry); the Begum Akhtar Kala Dharmi award; and the Naseem-e-Urdu award. Barelvi is Vice Chairman of the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL). Rahat Indori
Rahat Indori, born as Rahat Qureshi, (1 January 1950 – 11 August 2020) was an Indian Bollywood lyricist and Urdu poet. He was also a former professor of Urdu language and a painter. Prior to this he was a pedagogist of Urdu literature at DAVV. Biography Indori was born on 1 January 1950, in Indore to Rafatullah Qureshi (a cloth mill worker), and his wife Maqbool Un Nisa Begum. He was their fourth child. Rahat Indori did his schooling from Nutan School Indore from where he completed his Higher Secondary. He completed his graduation from Islamia Karimia College, Indore in 1973 and has passed his MA in Urdu literature from Barkatullah University with a gold medal. (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh) in 1975. Munawwar Rana
Munawwar Rana (born 26 November 1952) is an Indian Urdu poet. Early life Munawwar Rana was born in Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, India in 1952, but spent most of his life in Kolkata, West Bengal. Poetic style He uses Hindi and Awadhi words and avoids Persian and Arabic. This makes his poetry accessible to Indian audiences and explains his popularity in the poetic meets held in non-Urdu areas.
