Inverness Thistle Football Club is a Scottish football club playing in the North Caledonian Football League, and are based in the city of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. History The first incarnation of Inverness Thistle was founded in 1885, playing at Kingsmills Park, and competing in the Highland League as a founding member, winning the title 8 times until the club was merged with rivals, Caledonian, in 1994, to form Caledonian Thistle, later Inverness Caledonian Thistle, in order to gain election to the Scottish Football League, and are currently playing in League One, the third tier of Scottish Football. The second incarnation came in 2016, where a team used the name in the Inverness and District Amateur Football League before dissolving in 2018. North Kessock
North Kessock (Scottish Gaelic, Gaelic: ''Ceasag a Tuath'' or ''Aiseag Cheasaig'') is a village on the Black Isle north of Inverness. Description North Kessock is the first village encountered over the Kessock Bridge. Now bypassed by the main road to the north (the A9 road (Great Britain), A9), the village remains quiet. Its counterpart across the Beauly Firth, South Kessock, is a district of Inverness. History Nearby Ord Hill has the remains of a hill fort dating back to around 550BC which was reused by the Picts around 1,000 years later. North Kessock probably existed as early as 1437, when the Dominican monastery in Inverness was granted a charter to operate a ferry to the Black Isle. Scottish League One
The Scottish League One, known as William Hill (bookmaker), William Hill League One for sponsorship reasons, is the third tier of the Scottish Professional Football League, the league competition for men's professional association football, football clubs in Scotland. The Scottish League One was established in July 2013, after the Scottish Professional Football League was formed by a merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League. Format Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. At the end of each season, the club with the most points is crowned list of Scottish football champions, league champion. If points are equal, the goal difference determines the winner. Muir of Ord () is a village in Easter Ross, in the Highland (council area), Highland council area of Scotland. It is situated near the western end of the Black Isle, about west of the city of Inverness and south of Dingwall. The village had a population of in and sits above sea level. The Scottish geologist Sir Roderick Murchison was born in the village in 1792. Bught Park
Bught Park (Gaelic: Pàirc nam Bochd ) is the largest park in the city of Inverness, Scotland, and is situated on the western bank of the River Ness. It is home to the Inverness Highland Games and a small scale outdoor music festival. It is located next to the city's sports centre, swimming pool and BMX track. The Bught Park is also the name for the sports stadium situated within the confines of the park which regularly hosts both the Camanachd Cup Final and the Composite Rules Shinty/Hurling Internationals and is considered one of the finest parks in shinty. It is also home to Inverness Shinty Club who have played there since the 1920s. The park is situated on land that was formerly the Bught House estate. The Scottish Football League (SFL) is a defunct league featuring professional and semi-professional football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border.
