Invermere Airport
Invermere Airport is located northeast of Invermere, British Columbia, Canada on the Shuswap Indian Band Reserve. As described in the Canada Flight Supplement it is a Prior Permission Required airport. Landing fees are only applicable to commercial aircraft. It is mostly for smaller propeller driven general aviation aircraft being only long, and larger aircraft must use Fairmont Hot Springs Airport, around away. In the summer months there can be heavy glider activity from Invermere Soaring Centre. Babin Air is the local air operator and Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) offering scenic, charter flights and maintenance. Invermere
Invermere is a community in eastern British Columbia, Canada, near the border of Alberta. It is the hub of the Columbia Valley between Golden to the north and Cranbrook to the south. Invermere sits on the northwest shore of Windermere Lake and is a popular summer destination for visitors and second home owners from Edmonton and Calgary. Geography Invermere is located south of Radium, and south of Golden and from the Trans-Canada Highway. Shuswap Indian Band
The Shuswap Indian Band (Shuswap language: Kenpesq’t ) is a member government of the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council and also of the Ktunaxa Kinbasket Tribal Council, located in the East Kootenay region of the Canadian province of British Columbia. Its main reserve, the Shuswap Indian Reserve, is located one mile north of Invermere, British Columbia in the Columbia Valley region of the Rocky Mountain Trench on the upper Columbia River, on the other side of the Selkirk Mountains from other Secwepemc bands. It was created when the government of the then- Colony of British Columbia established an Indian reserve system in the 1860s.
