''Invader Volume 1'' is the fourth extended play from the New Zealand Christian hip hop band Rapture Ruckus. It released on 25 February 2014 by BEC Recordings. The EP charted at No. 61 on the ''Billboard'' 200, and it was awarded four star ratings from Indie Vision Music, Jesus Freak Hideout and New Release Tuesday, a three-and-a-half star rating from AllMusic and a three star rating from ''CCM Magazine''. Background The fourth extended play from the New Zealand Christian hip hop group is entitled ''Invader Volume 1'', and it was released by BEC Recordings on 25 February 2014. The EP was primarily written and produced by Brad Dring and longtime collaborator Geoff Duncan, with contributions from other writers and producers as noted below. Rapture Ruckus was a Christian hip hop and rock band from Wellington, New Zealand signed to BEC Recordings. They have released four albums: ''Rapture Ruckus'' in 2002, ''I Believe'' in 2006, '' Rapture Ruckus Live at World's End'' in 2008, and '' Rapture Ruckus'' in 2010 as debut album with BEC Recordings. ''I Believe'' won an award for Best Gospel/Christian Album at the New Zealand Music Awards, ''Rapture Ruckus Live at World's End'' debuted at No. 7 on the New Zealand album charts and ''Rapture Ruckus'' (2010) was nominated for a Dove Award for Best Rap/Hip Hop Album. Christian Hip Hop
Christian hip hop (originally gospel rap, also known as Christian rap, gospel hip hop or holy hip hop) is a subgenre of contemporary Christian music and hip hop music. It emerged from urban contemporary music and Christian media in the United States during the 1980s. Christian hip hop music first emerged on record in 1982 with a track entitled "Jesus Christ (The Gospel Beat)" by Queens, New York artist McSweet. Christian electronic dance music, also known as CEDM, Christian EDM, Christian Dance Music, CDM, or Christian electronic music is a genre of electronic dance music and Christian music. Its musical styles closely mirror non-Christian EDM; however, the CEDM culture's lack of drug use and emphasis of positive lyrics (often focused on Christianity-based principles) distinguish it from non-religious counterparts. Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. Rap rock's most popular subgenres include rap metal and rapcore, which include heavy metal and hardcore punk-oriented influences, respectively. BEC (Brandon Ebel Company) Recordings is a Christian rock record label that is an imprint of Tooth & Nail Records. The label was formed in 1997 in partnership with the EMI Christian Music Group.
