''Invader'' is the fifth studio album by Rapture Ruckus. BEC Recordings released the album on 7 April 2015. The album was produced by Brad Dring and long time collaborator Geoff Duncan. Critical reception Signaling in a four star review by Jesus Freak Hideout, Christopher Smith describes, "Fusing these two EPs together and throwing them into a volcano may sound like a hot mess, but the result works surprisingly well." Sarah Fine, indicating in a four and a half star review from New Release Tuesday, replies, "This group runs the gamut melodically, and ''Invader'' is a fine example of that." Rapture Ruckus was a Christian hip hop and rock band from Wellington, New Zealand, signed to BEC Recordings. They have released four albums: ''Rapture Ruckus'' in 2002, ''I Believe'' in 2006, '' Rapture Ruckus Live at World's End'' in 2008, and '' Rapture Ruckus'' in 2010 as debut album with BEC Recordings. Christian Hip Hop
Christian hip-hop (originally gospel rap, also known as Christian rap, gospel hip-hop or holy hip-hop) is a cross-genre of contemporary Christian music and hip-hop. It emerged from urban contemporary music and Christian media in the United States during the 1980s. Christian hip-hop music first emerged on record in 1982 with a track entitled "Jesus Christ (The Gospel Beat)" by Queens, New York artist McSweet. The first full-length Christian hip-hop album, ''Bible Break'', by Oklahoma artist Stephen Wiley, was released in 1985, with the title track becoming a hit on Christian radio in 1986. Rap Rock
Rap rock is a music genre that developed from the early to mid-1980s, when hip hop DJs incorporated rock records into their routines and rappers began incorporating original and sampled rock instrumentation into hip hop music. Rap rock is considered to be rock music in which lyrics are rapped, rather than sung. The genre achieved its greatest success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Characteristics ''AllMusic'' characterized rap rock songs as rock songs in which the vocals were rapped rather than sung. ''AllMusic'' also states that the rhythms of rap rock are rooted in those of hip hop, with more funk influences than normal hard rock. Session player Eddie Martinez, who created the guitar parts for hip hop group Run-DMC's rap rock song " Rock Box", recognized that "a rap-rock song needn't feature a new change in the chorus; rather, it's a spot where the guitarist can just solo over the same riff that drives the verses." Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a music genre that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Tooth & Nail Records is a record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle where it is today. History Brandon Ebel and Michael Knott conceived the label as a joint venture, before Knott backed out. Prior to forming Tooth & Nail, Ebel worked for Frontline Records. Tooth & Nail's first album released was Wish for Eden's ''Pet the Fish.'' In 2002, the label bought out Takehold Records.
