Invade (Within The Ruins Album)
''Invade'' is the second studio album by American metalcore band Within the Ruins. It is the first release to feature Tim Goergen on vocals, and Jay Van Schelt on guitars. The album sold 2,000 copies in its first week and 650 in its second. Composition ''Invade'' is the first Within the Ruins album to feature a song from the "Ataxia" instrumental series. Newer installments of the song would appear on the band's subsequent studio albums ever since. Speaking on "Ataxia" in a 2013 interview with music news site ''MindEqualsBlown'', guitarist Joe Cocchi stated: "It was one of the first demos that I had. Within the Ruins is an American metalcore band formed in Westfield, Massachusetts in 2003. The group currently consists of guitarist Joe Cocchi, drummer Kevin McGuill, bassist Paolo Galang, and vocalist Steve Tinnon. They are currently signed to eOne Music and Good Fight Music. The band has released seven studio albums and three EPs. History Within the Ruins founding members Joe Cocchi and Kevin McGuill started the band during 2003. The band went through some line-up changes and finally began working on their first self-released EP entitled ''Driven by Fear'' which was completed in 2005. Followed by the release, the band began touring in late 2006 in an effort to gain exposure and label recognition. Carnifex (band)
Carnifex is an American deathcore band from San Diego County, California. Formed in 2005, they are currently signed to Nuclear Blast after having been signed to Victory Records. They have released nine studio albums and three EPs. Since 2022, the band has consisted of founding members, lead vocalist Scott Ian Lewis and drummer Shawn Cameron, along with rhythm guitarist Cory Arford, bassist Fred Calderon and lead guitarist Neal Tiemann. Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore Breakdown (music)#Heavy metal and punk rock, breakdowns. ''Re-Traced'' is an EP by progressive metal band Cynic. It is composed of four re-interpretations of songs from their album '' Traced in Air'', as well as one new song. It was released through Season of Mist on May 17. History During the 2010 tour in support of Between the Buried and Me along with Scale the Summit and the Devin Townsend Project, the band performed live "an experiment". Cynic is an American progressive metal band formed in Miami, Florida in 1987. The band has been primarily based in California since the late 1990s (or 1996), marking a significant shift in their geographic and creative roots. Paul Masvidal originally served solely as the band's guitarist, but later took over as lead vocalist and chief songwriter. Cynic incorporates elements of progressive rock, alternative, and metal. ''Hell Chose Me'' is the third studio album by American deathcore band Carnifex, released February 16, 2010, through Victory Records. Background The band started writing and recording the album ''Hell Chose Me'' in 2009. Upon its release, the album received positive reception and acclaim for its musical styling, structure, and concepts. ''Omen'' is the third EP by American metalcore band Within the Ruins. It was released on May 24, 2011 through Victory Records. It features two new songs and two covers. ''Omen'' would be the band's last release featuring Mike Beaujean on bass and Jay Van Schelt on guitar. Additionally, it would be the last release to feature two guitarists, with Cocchi taking over sole guitar duties in the third studio album ''Elite''.
