Interstate 76 (Colorado–Nebraska)
Interstate 76 (I-76) is an east–west Interstate Highway (though it is signed north-south in Nebraska) in the Western United States that runs from I-70 in Arvada, Colorado – near Denver – to an interchange with I-80 near Big Springs, Nebraska. The highway measures long, mostly situated in Colorado but approximately of which is in Nebraska. Along the route, the highway runs concurrent with US 6, US 85 in the Denver metropolitan area, and US 34 from Wiggins to Fort Morgan. It has no auxiliary Interstates, but it has two business routes that are located in northeastern Colorado. This route is not connected with the other I-76 that spans from Ohio to New Jersey. The section of I-76 from its western terminus at I-70 to the SH 71 interchange near Brush, Colorado is designated as part of the Heartland Expressway, a planned series of multi-lane highways connecting Denver and Rapid City, South Dakota. Interstate 76 (I-76) is an east–west Interstate Highway in the Eastern United States. The highway runs approximately from an Interchange (road), interchange with Interstate 71, I-71 west of Akron, Ohio, east to Interstate 295 (Delaware–Pennsylvania), I-295 in Bellmawr, New Jersey. This route is not contiguous with Interstate 76 (Colorado–Nebraska), I-76 in Colorado and Nebraska. Starting in Ohio, the highway runs west of Akron to west of Youngstown, Ohio, Youngstown, where it joins the Ohio Turnpike, Ohio Turnpike as a toll road. At the Pennsylvania state line, the Ohio Turnpike ends and becomes the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Pennsylvania Turnpike, also a tolled facility. Along the turnpike, the route runs approximately across most of the southern portion of the state, serving the Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Harrisburg areas. The Ilyushin Il-76 (; NATO reporting name: Candid) is a multi-purpose, fixed-wing, four-engine turbofan strategic airlifter designed by the Soviet Union's Ilyushin design bureau as a commercial freighter in 1967, to replace the Antonov An-12. It was developed to deliver heavy machinery to remote and poorly served areas. Military versions of the Il-76 have been widely used in Europe, Asia and Africa, including use as an aerial refueling tanker and command center. The Il-76 has seen extensive service as a commercial freighter for ramp-delivered cargo, especially for outsized or heavy items that cannot be carried by other means. It has also been used as an emergency response transport for civilian evacuations as well as for humanitarian aid and disaster relief around the world.
