International Society Of Drug Bulletins
The International Society of Drug Bulletins works to increase the sharing of high quality information on medical treatments and medication between countries. It was started in 1986 and is supported by the World Health Organization. To be a member publishers must have a certain level of independence from conflicts of interest and publish at least quarterly. NPS MedicineWise, previously the National Prescribing Service (NPS), was an Australian not-for-profit prescribing and pharmaceutical information service. The NPS was founded in March 1998 and funded by the federal Department of Health and Aged Care under the Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) grant. It provided practical tools, education programs, and evidence-based drug and therapeutics information to clinicians and patients, with the intention of improving the way health technologies, including how medicines and medical tests, are prescribed and used. In March 2022, the Department of Health and Aged Care announced a plan to withdraw QUM funding of NPS MedicineWise as part of redesigning the QUM program and National Medicines Policy. ''Prescrire'' also known as ''La Revue Prescrire'' is a monthly medical journal in French which addresses developments in diseases, medications, and in medical techniques and technologies. ''Prescrire'' contains no advertising, and is internally financed by subscriptions and the sale of various personnel training. In contrast to many traditional medical journals, which review and publish articles submitted by external researchers, Prescrire mainly publishes reviews prepared by its own staff. It is run by the Association Mieux Prescrire which is a not for profit. It is independent of the pharmaceutical industry. Therapeutics Initiative
The Therapeutics Initiative (TI) is an independent organization at the University of British Columbia (UBC) which researches the effectiveness of medications and provides education to health care providers in British Columbia about the use of medications. History The Therapeutics Initiative was founded in 1994 by the British Columbia Ministry of Health. Since 2013, the organization has been managed by the UBC. When requested it additionally looks at specific medications to generate reports for PharmaCare. These reports are generated without look at costs just medication effects. This is done independently of the pharmaceutical industry and government. They additionally publish the "Therapeutics Letter" and are part of the International Society of Drug Bulletins.
