The International Meeteis Forum (or "International Meitei Forum", IMF) is a Meitei ethnic advocacy group in the Indian state of Manipur. Imphal Valley
Imphal Valley ( /ˈɪmpɑːl/; ) or Manipur Valley () is located in the Indian state of Manipur and is an irregular almost oval shaped canyon that was formed as a result of the multiple small rivers that originate from neighbouring hill regions surrounding the valley and flow through it. The water in the Imphal valley is fetched from several rivers that flows via the valley, such as Imphal River, Iril River, Thoubal River, Khuga River and Sekmai river. Imphal River is the most prominent of the rivers which pass through the heart of the valley, and the river for which the entire valley is named. Meitei Leepun
Pramot Singh is a Meitei socio-political activist in Manipur, India. He heads a Meitei nationalist organisation called Meitei Leepun, which was active in the 2023–2025 Manipur violence, along with another organisation called Arambai Tenggol. Biography Pramot Singh studied clinical psychology at Maharaja Sayajirao University from 1989-1991, and received a Master's in clinical psychology from Gujarat University. He married his wife, Radha Wangkheirakpam, in 2000. Biographical details regarding Singh between his graduation and his prominence as a Meitei Leepun leader following its formation in 2015 are scarce. He has stated that his time with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), had a significant influence on him. The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) is a joint body of Meitei civil society organisations in the Indian state of Manipur. Inner Line Permit
Inner Line Permit (ILP) is an official travel document issued by the state government concerned to allow inward travel of an Indian citizen into a protected area for a limited period. It is obligatory for Indian citizens from outside those states to obtain a permit to enter the protected state. The document is an effort by the government to regulate movement to certain areas located near the international border of India. An ILP is usually significantly easier to obtain than the analogous Protected Area Permit (PAP) which is the document required by non-citizens to enter the same areas. Cheitharol Kumbaba
''Cheitharol Kumbaba'' or ''Cheithalon Kumpapa'' (''Ch. K.''), the "Royal Chronicle of Manipur", is a court chronicle of the kings of Manipur, which claims to start from 33 CE and to cover the rule of 76 Kings until 1955. The work of chronicling actually began during the reign of King Kiyamba in 1485 CE. The earlier events were reconstructed later during the reign of Bhagyachandra, presumably from oral sources or from scattered written records. According to scholar Saroj Nalini Parratt, the earlier parts have relatively little detail but contain numerous inaccuracies. But they are still said to be useful in reconstructing Manipur's early history. Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) is a generic name of an organisation comprising many Kuki student bodies in India. It functions under a general headquarters, with districts and other branches at different states and cities of northeast India and mainland India. Formation With the objective of forming a pan–Kuki student body an all India Kuki Students Conference was held at Tamphasana Girls High School, Imphal on 20–23 October 1958. Representatives from Assam, Naga Hills, Lushai hills, Tripura, Shillong, etc. attended the conference. The congregation felt the need for formation of a student body to take care of their problems, and if needed, to support the demand for a Kuki State.
