The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is an international body representing the interests of people who rely on Library, libraries and information professionals. A non-governmental, not-for-profit organization, IFLA was founded in Scotland in 1927 with headquarters at the National Library of the Netherlands in The Hague. IFLA sponsors the annual IFLA World Library and Information Congress, promoting Freedom of information, access to information, ideas, and works of imagination for social, educational, cultural, democratic, and economic empowerment. IFLA also produces several publications, including ''IFLA Journal''. IFLA partners with UNESCO, resulting in several jointly produced manifestos. Vicki McDonald
Vicki Gayle McDonald AM is an Australian librarian who became President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). Life Her first library was at the Dalby-Wambo Public Library in Queensland which she joined as a librarian assistant. She credits the German librarian Claudia Lux with noting, correctly, that she would become addicted to the work of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions in 2005. She became the head of Library and Information Services at the State Library of New South Wales in Sydney. The value of the New South Wales Library's collections had an estimated value of three billion dollars. In 2015 she moved from New South Wales to become the State Librarian and Chief Executive Officer of State Library of Queensland. Isak Collijn
Isak Gustaf Alfred Collijn (17 July 1875 – 28 March 1949) was a Sweden, Swedish bibliographer and publisher. He enrolled as a student in 1893, and graduated with a degree in philosophy in 1902, with the treatise ''Les suffixes toponymiques dans les langues française et provençale''. He was employed as a lecturer at Uppsala University in 1905, and as chief librarian at the same university in 1910. In 1914, Collijn commenced editing the librarians' periodical ''Nordisk tidsskrift för bok- och biblioteksväsen''. From 1927 to 1931, Collijn was President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. He was a cousin of Ludvig Collijn.
