Intercontinental Cup (India)
The Intercontinental Cup is a four-nation football tournament organised by the All India Football Federation ( AIFF). It was launched in 2018 as a replacement for Nehru Cup, with the first edition held as the 2018 Intercontinental Cup (India). Naming rights of the tournament were purchased by Hero MotoCorp which also sponsored the national team at that time. On 7 January 2023, the AIFF confirmed that the Intercontinental Cup would become an annual competition as part of their "Vision 2047" initiative to improve Indian football. All India Football Federation (AIFF) is the governing body of football, futsal and beach soccer in India. It is a member of FIFA, and is affiliated with the Asian Football Confederation and South Asian Football Federation. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Firas Mohamad Al Khatib (; born 9 June 1983) is a Syrian former footballer who mainly played as a forward. He is the Syria national team all-time top goalscorer, with 36 goals. Club career Early life Al-Khatib began playing football at Al-Karamah SC, he was included in the club's categories U-14, with whom he played for two seasons. Lallianzuala Chhangte (born 8 June 1997) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a winger for the Indian Super League club Mumbai City, which he captains, and the India national team. Chhangte began his professional senior career with DSK Shivajians. In 2016, he was loaned out to NorthEast United. In 2017, he joined Delhi Dynamos, where he rose to prominence.
