Interborough Express
The Interborough Express (IBX) is a proposed 14-mile (22.5 km) 24/7 light rail line in New York City. As proposed, the line would operate on its own separate tracks within the existing right-of-way from the Bay Ridge Branch and Fremont Secondary to connect Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and Jackson Heights, Queens. Near the All Faiths Cemetery in Queens, IBX would operate on the street. the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) estimated that the project would be operational in 2027. The 62nd Street/New Utrecht Avenue station is a New York City Subway station complex shared by the open-cut BMT Sea Beach Line and the elevated BMT West End Line. The Eighth Avenue station is a local station on the BMT Sea Beach Line of the New York City Subway. It is located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and 62nd Street. It is served by the N train at all times. During rush hours, several W and northbound Q trains also serve the station. Eighth Avenue is the northernmost stop on the Sea Beach Line. West of this station, the tracks curve northward, enter a tunnel, and become the express tracks of the BMT Fourth Avenue Line.
