Inter-Parliamentary Forum
The Inter-Parliamentary Forum (IPF; ) is a mechanism for dialogue and cooperation between the members of the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, UK Parliament, the House of Lords and the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons, and the Devolution in the United Kingdom, devolved legislatures of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales – the Northern Ireland Assembly, the Scottish Parliament and the Senedd. It is composed of the chairs or conveners of relevant committees of each legislature. The forum was established in 2022 as the successor to the Inter-Parliamentary Forum on Brexit which first met in 2017 to help coordinate the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union. The House of Lords is the upper house of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Like the lower house, the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons, it meets in the Palace of Westminster in London, England. One of the oldest extant institutions in the world, its origins lie in the early 11th century and the emergence of bicameralism in the 13th century. In contrast to the House of Commons, membership of the Lords is not generally acquired by Elections in the United Kingdom, election.
