Ilma University (stylized as ILMA University) ( ur, ) (Formerly the Institute of Business & Technology, IBT), is a private, independent university located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Formerly Institute of Business Technology, it was elevated to university status in May 2017 by legislation passed by the Provincial Sindh Assembly as a judicial Act of Sindh vide Sindh Act # XIX of 2017. Ilma University is situated in the educational hub of Karachi city. Higher Education Commission Of Pakistan
The Higher Education Commission (colloquially known as HEC) is a statutory body formed by the Government of Pakistan which was established in 2002 under the Chairmanship of Atta-ur-Rahman. Its main functions are funding, overseeing, regulating and accrediting the higher education institutions in the country. It was first established in 1974 as University Grants Commission (UGC), and came into its modern form on 11 September 2002 after Atta-ur-Rahman's reforms, which received international praise. Tamgha-e-Imtiaz () also spelled as Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, is a state-organised honour of Pakistan. It is given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their achievements. While it is a civilian/military award, it can be bestowed upon officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces and worn on their uniform.
