''Inspiral Carpets'' is the fifth studio album by the British indie rock band of the same name, released on 20 October 2014. Clint Boon
Clinton David Boon (born 28 June 1959) is an English musician, DJ and radio presenter. Boon originally rose to fame as the keyboard player (and sometimes vocalist) of Inspiral Carpets. Music career Born in Oldham, Lancashire, Boon joined the Inspiral Carpets in 1986 after previously playing in a band called The Mill. After the Inspiral Carpets split in 1995, Boon went on to form The Clint Boon Experience releasing two albums under this name – '' The Compact Guide to Pop Music and Space Travel'' (1999), and '' Life in Transition'' (2000). In this year the band released the single "Do What You Do (Earworm Song)", which featured Fran Healy, the lead singer of the band Travis. Boon has his own record label, 'Booney Tunes', signing artists such as Elaine Palmer, and has also been a regular DJ at a number of nightclubs around England, and in Wrexham, North Wales. John Cooper Clarke
John Cooper Clarke (born 25 January 1949) is an English performance poet and comedian who styled himself as a "punk poet" in the late 1970s. In the 1970s and early 1980s, he released several albums and performed on stage with punk and post-punk bands. He continues to perform regularly. His recorded output has mainly relied on musical backing from the Invisible Girls, which featured Martin Hannett, Steve Hopkins, Pete Shelley, Bill Nelson and Paul Burgess. Early life Clarke was born in Salford, Lancashire, in 1949. He lived in the Higher Broughton area of the city and became interested in poetry after being inspired by his English teacher, John Malone. Formed in Oldham in 1983, the band's most successful lineup featured frontman Tom Hingley, drummer Craig Gill, guitarist Graham Lambert, bassist Martyn Walsh, and keyboardist Clint Boon. ''Devil Hopping'' is the fourth studio album from British indie band Inspiral Carpets, released on 7 March 1994 via Mute Records. The single version of "I Want You" features vocals by Mark E. Smith of the Fall. Mute dropped the band after the release of ''Devil Hopping''. The title of the album came from producer Pascal Gabriel's pronunciation of the word "developing." Critical reception The ''Chicago Tribune'' wrote that "with driving guitars and Martyn Walsh's booming bass lines, ''Devil Hopping'' edges toward a punchier rock sound."
