''Insaana'' is a 2014 Maldivian psychological thriller film directed by Ali Seezan. Produced by Ahmed Shizan and Ali Seezan under C-Xanal Movies, the film stars Ali Seezan, Aishath Rishmy and Fathimath Fareela in pivotal roles. The film was released on 21 September 2014. The film was inspired by Ryan Connolly's short psychological horror film '' Tell'' (2012) which is loosely based on the Edgar Allan Poe short story " The Tell-Tale Heart". The film revolved around a murder and how the murderer tries to evade from the crime. At the 2015 South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Film Festival, ''Insaana'' was bestowed with Bronze Medal as Best Film, competing with seventeen regional films. Ali Seezan
Ali Seezan (born 6 February 1977) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, director and producer. He has established a career in Maldives Film Industry and is a recipient of two National Film Awards. Early life Ali Seezan was born on 6 February 1977. His parents Fathimath Waheeda and Abdul Rasheed are not active members of the film industry, though his father has worked in arranging stage shows for many events. He completed his studies at Madhrasathul Ameer Ahmed and Majeediyya School. He is a nephew of Maldivian actor and politician Reeko Moosa Manik. Fathimath Fareela (24 October 1984) is a Maldivian film actress. Career Fareela made her film debut in Ahmed Nimal's romantic film ''Vaaloabi Engeynama'' (2006), starred alongside Yoosuf Shafeeu, Mariyam Afeefa and Fauziyya Hassan which was a critical and commercial success, considered to be the most successful Maldivian release of the year. Ahmed Saeed is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 1997–2010: Debut and early releases On 13 June 1997, Saeed made his screen debut in a video single alongside Hassan Afeef and Mariyam Nisha. Aishath Rishmy Rameez (born 15 November 1985) is a Maldivian actress film producer and director. Early life Born in Malé, Maldives, Rishmy is the daughter of actor Aminath Rasheedha. She is the elder sister of actress Mariyam Azza. They reside in Vilingili since the early days when the island was made a satellite town of Male. Ibrahim Zaid Ali (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Kuda Ibbe is a Maldivian singer and music composer. Early life and career Since childhood, Ali had been listening to all genres of songs from Bollywood classical to hip-hop to heavy metal music. Ibrahim Wisan (born 27 February 1977), nicknamed as Kandi is a Maldivian cinematographer, actor and director. Career In 1996, Wisan starred in Mohamed Rasheed's '' Hifehettumeh Neiy Karuna'' opposite Niuma Mohamed, Abdul Raheem and Arifa Ibrahim.
