''Insaana'' is a 2014 Maldivian psychological thriller film directed by Ali Seezan. Produced by Ahmed Shizan and Ali Seezan under C-Xanal Movies, the film stars Ali Seezan, Aishath Rishmy and Fathimath Fareela in pivotal roles. The film was released on 21 September 2014. The film was inspired by Ryan Connolly's short psychological horror film '' Tell'' (2012) which is loosely based on the Edgar Allan Poe short story " The Tell-Tale Heart". The film revolved around a murder and how the murderer tries to evade from the crime. At the 2015 South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Film Festival, ''Insaana'' was bestowed with Bronze Medal as Best Film, competing with seventeen regional films. Ali Seezan
Ali Seezan (born 6 February 1977) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, director and producer. He has established a career in Maldives Film Industry and is a recipient of two National Film Awards. Early life Ali Seezan was born on 6 February 1977. His parents Fathimath Waheeda and Abdul Rasheed are not active members of the film industry, though his father has worked in arranging stage shows for many events. He completed his studies at Madhrasathul Ameer Ahmed and Majeediyya School. He is a nephew of Maldivian actor and politician Reeko Moosa Manik. While studying he was an active participant in Scout and Cadet activities. Fathimath Fareela
Fathimath Fareela (24 October 1984) is a Maldivian film actress. Career Fareela made her film debut in Ahmed Nimal's romantic film ''Vaaloabi Engeynama'' (2006), starred alongside Yoosuf Shafeeu, Mariyam Afeefa and Fauziyya Hassan which was a critical and commercial success, considered to be the most successful Maldivian release of the year. The film follows a conflicted husband struggling to convey equal affection towards his two spouses. Her performance as the grumbling wife received critical appreciation, winning her a Gaumee Film Award as the Best Supporting Actress. Nadhiya Hassan is a Maldivian film actress. Early life Hassan completed tenth standard education from Aminiya School. After graduation, she was offered to feature in several video songs being produced from notable production studios. Ahmed Saeed is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 1997–2010: Debut and early releases On 13 June 1997, Saeed made his screen debut in a video single alongside Hassan Afeef and Mariyam Nisha. Afterwards, he played a role in Yoosuf Rafeeu's ''Dhiriulhumakee Mieebaa?''. He made his official film debut in Fathimath Nahula's debut direction ''Fahuneyvaa'' (1998), starring opposite Hussain Sobah, Jamsheedha Ahmed and Mariyam Nisha which portrays the love-conflict of a man between a prominent stage performer and a deaf-mute poor girl. Aishath Rishmy
Aishath Rishmy Rameez (born 15 November 1985) is a Maldivian actress film producer and director. Early life Born in Malé, Maldives, Rishmy is the daughter of actor Aminath Rasheedha. She is the elder sister of actress Mariyam Azza. They reside in Vilingili since the early days when the island was made a satellite town of Male. Rishmy completed her secondary education from Aminiya School and accomplished her higher education from Centre for Higher Secondary Education. Ibrahim Zaid Ali (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Kuda Ibbe is a Maldivian singer and music composer. Early life and career Since childhood, Ali had been listening to all genres of songs from Bollywood classical to hip-hop to heavy metal music. At the age of seven, Ali fabricated music equipment including guitar and drum using wood, plywood and tin, where he used these self-made instruments to perform songs in the football stadium. Ibrahim Wisan
Ibrahim Wisan (born 27 February 1977), nicknamed as Kandi is a Maldivian cinematographer, actor and director. Career In 1996, Wisan starred in Mohamed Rasheed's '' Hifehettumeh Neiy Karuna'' opposite Niuma Mohamed, Abdul Raheem and Arifa Ibrahim. He again collaborated with Arifa Ibrahim for her drama film ''Dhauvaa'', an unofficial remake of Deepak Sareen's Bollywood film '' Aaina'' (1993), where he reprised the role played by Deepak Tijori in the original.
