Innlandet (island)
Innlandet is an island in Kristiansund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is the smallest of the four main islands of the town of Kristiansund (the others are Kirkelandet, Gomalandet, and Nordlandet). The island is connected to the island of Kirkelandet (to the north) by the Sørsund Bridge. The island sits east of the Bremsnesfjorden and west of the island of Nordlandet. Most of the island is urban, except for the tall hill on the eastern end of the island which is forested. The island was barely affected by the bombings during World War II, so the island is full of the characteristic old wooden buildings that were prevalent in the 1800s and early 1900s. Møre og Romsdal (; ) is a Counties of Norway, county in the northernmost part of Western Norway, Western Norway. It borders the counties of Trøndelag, Innlandet, and Vestland. Kristiansund (, ; historically spelled Christianssund and earlier named Fosna) is a municipality on the western coast of Norway in the Nordmøre district of Møre og Romsdal county. The administrative center of the municipality is the town of Kristiansund (established in 1742), which is the major town for the whole Nordmøre region. Nordlandet is an island in Kristiansund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located just east of the city center of Kristiansund, and is one of the boroughs of the city. The island is home to Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget, which is named after the nearby tall mountain Kvernberget. This is the largest of the islands that make up the city of Kristiansund (the others being Kirkelandet, Innlandet, and Skorpa). Bremsnesfjorden is a fjord in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The long fjord flows between the island of Averøya in Averøy Municipality on the west and the islands of Kristiansund Municipality in the east.
