Inner Development Goals
The Inner Development Goals (IDG) is a non-profit, open-source initiative committed to fostering inner development towards more sustainable futures. The organization developed the Inner Development Goals framework with the intent to simplify a complex field of human development to help people better identify, understand, communicate, develop, and integrate the inner skills needed for sustainable development. Rooted in interdisciplinary research, the IDG Framework consists of 5 dimensions with 23 skills of human inner growth and development. Origins Data released in the 2023 Sustainability Development Report shows that based on the current pace of progress, less than 20% of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets are on track to be achieved. Sustainable Development Goals
The ''2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development'', adopted by all United Nations (UN) members in 2015, created 17 world Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim of these global goals is "peace and prosperity for people and the planet" – while tackling climate change and working to preserve oceans and forests. The SDGs highlight the connections between the environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainable development. Sustainability is at the center of the SDGs, as the term ''sustainable development'' implies. These goals are ambitious, and the reports and outcomes to date indicate a challenging path. Most, if not all, of the goals are unlikely to be met by 2030. Rising inequalities, climate change, and biodiversity loss are topics of concerns threatening progress. International Institute for Management Development (IMD) is an independent academic institute with campuses in Lausanne, Switzerland and Singapore. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a CEO-led organization of over 225 international companies. The council is also connected to 60 national and regional business councils and partner organizations.
