Ingvar Lindell
Ingvar Lindell (1904–1993) was a Swedish civil servant and social democratic politician who served as the minister of justice between 1957 and 1959. Biography Lindell was born in 1904. His father was a physician. Lindell was the supreme court judge in the 1940s. Then he assumed various posts in the Swedish cabinet and was named as the minister of justice in 1957, a post which he held until 1959. The Minister for Justice, (), formally cabinet minister and head of the Ministry of Justice, is a member and minister of the Government of Sweden and is appointed by the Prime Minister. The minister is responsible for policies related to combating terrorism, democracy and human rights, family law, the judicial system and the Constitution of Sweden. The current Minister for Justice is Gunnar Strömmer of the Moderate Party. History The office was instituted in 1809 as a result of the constitutional Instrument of Government promulgated in the same year. The Swedish Social Democratic Party, formally the Swedish Social Democratic Workers' Party ( , S or SAP), usually referred to as The Social Democrats ( ), is a social democratic political party in Sweden. Halland County (, ) is a county ('' län'') on the western coast of Sweden. It corresponds roughly to the cultural and historical province of Halland. The capital is Halmstad. Succession To The Swedish Throne
The line of succession to the Swedish throne is determined by the Act of Succession (), originally approved jointly by the Riksdag of the Estates assembled in Örebro and King Charles XIII in 1810. In 1979, the Riksdag introduced absolute primogeniture, meaning that the eldest child of the monarch, regardless of gender, is first in the line of succession. The change entered into force on 1 January 1980, making Sweden the first country to adopt absolute primogeniture. The Swedish crown had previously (since 1810) descended according to agnatic primogeniture, meaning that only males could inherit it. Though the change took effect in 1980, its application was backdated so that Crown Princess Victoria, who was born in 1977, became the first in line of succession, replacing her brother, Prince Carl Philip, who was born in 1979.
