''Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds: Motion Picture Soundtrack'' is the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's motion picture '' Inglourious Basterds''. It was originally released on August 18, 2009. The soundtrack uses a variety of music genres, including Spaghetti Western soundtrack excerpts, R&B and a David Bowie song from the 1982 remake of '' Cat People.'' "The Man with the Big Sombrero", a song from the 1943 screwball comedy '' Hi Diddle Diddle'', was rerecorded in French for the movie. This is the first soundtrack for a Quentin Tarantino film not to feature dialogue excerpts. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media, but lost to the ''Slumdog Millionaire'' soundtrack. June Havoc (born Ellen Evangeline Hovick; November 8, 1912 – March 28, 2010) was a Canadian American actress, dancer, stage director and memoirist. Havoc was a child vaudeville performer under the tutelage of her mother Rose Thompson Hovick, born Rose Evangeline Thompson. She later acted on Broadway theatre, Broadway and in Hollywood, and stage-directed, both on and off-Broadway. She last acted on television in 1990 in a story arc on the soap opera ''General Hospital'', and she last appeared on television as herself in interviews in the "Vaudeville" episode of ''American Masters'' in 1997 and in "The Rodgers & Hart: Thou Swell, Thou Witty" episode of ''Great Performances'' in 1999. Her elder sister Louise gravitated to American burlesque, burlesque and became the well-known striptease performer Gypsy Rose Lee. Zarah Leander
Zarah Leander (; 15 March 1907 – 23 June 1981) was a Swedish singer and actress whose greatest success was in Germany between 1936 and 1943, when she was contracted to work for the state-owned Universum Film AG (UFA). Although no exact record sales numbers exist, she was probably among Europe's best-selling recording artists in the years prior to 1945. Gianni Ferrio
Gianni Ferrio (16 November 1924 – 21 October 2013) was an Italian composer, conductor and music arranger. Life and career Born in Vicenza, Ferrio studied at the conservatories of Vicenza and Venice. Starting in the late 1950s, he was active as a composer of film scores. He composed some 120 soundtracks, mostly for Spaghetti Westerns and commedie sexy all'italiana films. His piece "One Silver Dollar", the main theme to Giorgio Ferroni's '' Blood for a Silver Dollar'' (1965), was later included in the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's '' Inglourious Basterds''. Billy Preston
William Everett Preston (September 2, 1946 – June 6, 2006) was an American keyboardist, singer and songwriter whose work encompassed R&B, rock, soul, funk, and gospel. Preston was a top session keyboardist in the 1960s, during which he backed artists such as Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, the Everly Brothers, Reverend James Cleveland, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Charles Harold Bernstein (born February 28, 1943) is an American composer of film and television scores. He is a Daytime Emmy Award winner, and a two-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Music Branch, and is a member of the Board of Directors for both the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and the Society of Composers & Lyricists.
