Inglasco
Inglasco Inc. is a Canadian manufacturer of hockey pucks that has operated since 1976. Styled originally as InGlasCo, the company was founded in Sherbrooke, Quebec, by Denis S. Drolet (1951–2023), the son of Sherwood Hockey founder Léo Paul Drolet (1919–2001). Inglasco was created as a fibreglass manufacturing company, and then in 1980 expanded into the hockey business. Since 1991, Inglasco has been the official puck supplier of the National Hockey League, although its pucks have been used in the league since the early 1980s. Along with pucks, the company produces water bottles, mini sticks, hockey bags, and novelties. Between 1994 and 2008, Denis Drolet's holding company, the Groupe Drolet Inc., owned Inglasco and Sherwood-Drolet. After Sherwood-Drolet went bankrupt in 2008, Carpe Diem Growth Capital acquired it and Inglasco. In 2014, the Gracious Living Corporation acquired Sherwood and Inglasco from Carpe Diem. Sherwood Hockey
Sherwood, sometimes styled as Sher-Wood, is a Canadian brand of ice hockey equipment owned by the Canadian Tire Corporation through its subsidiary INA International. The brand was created in 1949 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, by Léo Paul Drolet, and was manufactured originally by his company Sherbrooke Woodcraft. In 1961 Drolet formed a second company called Sher-Wood Hockey Sticks, which merged in 1969 with Sherbrooke Woodcraft to form the Sherwood-Drolet Corp. After a fire at the Sherwood factory in 1969, Figgie International of Cleveland acquired a majority stake in the company. In 1991, Léo's son Denis Drolet succeeded his father as president. That year, the company expanded beyond hockey sticks and began producing protective equipment. Denis reacquired control of his father's company from Figgie in 1994, and until 2008, Sherwood-Drolet and its sister company Inglasco were owned by his holding company, the Groupe Drolet Inc. Sherbrooke ( , ) is a city in southern Quebec, Canada. It is at the confluence of the Saint-François River, Saint-François and Magog River, Magog rivers in the heart of the Estrie administrative region. Hockey Puck
A hockey puck is either an open or closed disk used in a variety of sports and games. There are designs made for use on an ice surface, such as in ice hockey, and others for the different variants of floor hockey which includes the wheeled skate variant of inline hockey ( roller hockey). They are all designed to serve the same function a ball does in ball games. A closed disk hockey puck having the shape of a short cylinder made of vulcanized rubber is used in the sport of ice hockey. Hockey pucks are designed for use on either an ice surface, dry floor, or underwater, though open disk designs have only been used on floors. Open disk hockey pucks have a hole, forming the shape of a toroid, for use in a particular style of floor hockey. 1991–92 NHL Season
The 1991–92 NHL season was the 75th regular season of the National Hockey League. The league expanded to 22 teams with the addition of the expansion San Jose Sharks. A ten-day players' strike was called in April, delaying the final weeks of the regular season and the playoffs, and pushing the Stanley Cup Finals into June for the first time.
