Ingerslevsgade
Ingerslevsgade is a street in the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It begins on the rear side of Copenhagen Central Station and follows the northwest side of the railway tracks to Enghave station. It also passes the Dybbølsbro station where Dybbøl Bridge connects it to Kalvebod Brygge and Havneholmen, Copenhagen on the other side of the railway tracks. The street is named after the politician Hans Peter Ingerslev, who was involved in the construction of the Free Port of Copenhagen. Notable buildings The first part of the street, from the Central Station to Dybbøl Bridge, passes the DGI-byen sports and conference centre and the White Meat District. The rest of the street is lined by apartment blocks from about 1900. Copenhagen Bus Terminal
Copenhagen Bus Terminal is a bus terminus in Copenhagen, Denmark. Situated along the Dybbølsbro railway station, it became operational on 6 June 2024. It was built to alleviate the previous situation where long-distance buses would park alongside the Ingerslevsgade road leading up to Copenhagen Central Station. That arrangement meant the passengers from the buses often stood in the way of cyclists and pedestrians. History In 2018 the Copenhagen Municipality and the Ministry of Transport decided that the Dybbølsbro neighbourhood of Copenhagen would be the area of choice for a future bus terminal. In 2020 the specific location was announced. It would be built alongside the main railway tracks going into Copenhagen Central Station, with Ikea and a hotel as the closest neighbours. Havneholmen, Copenhagen
Havneholmen () is a mixed-use development located on reclaimed land off Kalvebod Brygge in the harbor of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located just east of the shopping centre Fisketorvet from which it is separated by a narrow canal, although it is annexed to mainland Kalvebod Brygge at its southern end. Havneholmen is connected to Islands Brygge on the other side of the harbor by Brygge Bridge, a foot and cycling bridge. Tømmergraven Canal separates it from Enghave Brygge to the south. Construction The area was formerly known as Kalvebod Pladsvej and was an industrial site. The plan for its redevelopment was adopted by the City in 2003. A masterplan for the area was created by Gert Wingårdh and construction began in 2006. The development comprises about 91,000 square metres of buildings. Hans Peter Ingerslev
Hans Peter Ingerslev (3 May 1831 – 20 April 1896) was a Danish politician and minister. He was born in 1831 on Marselisborg Manor in Aarhus, owned by his parents Caspar Peder Rothe Ingerslev and Marie Meulengracht. Hans Peter Ingerslev graduated from the Cathedral School in Aarhus in 1849 and in 1864 he inherited Marselisborg Manor from his father. He was president of Viby parish council between 1865 and 1874 and member of Aarhus County council between 1865 and 1885. In 1873, Ingerslev was elected to the Danish Folketing for Højre, a predecessor for the Conservative People's Party, and he served for two terms; from 1873 to 1876 and from 1879 to 1884. From 1884 to his death, Ingerslev served in the Landsting. From 1885 to 1896 he was Minister of the Interior. During his tenure as Minister of the Interior, Ingerslev accomplished laws related to social services, pensions and healthcare. Enghave Station
Enghave station is a former station on the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. The station opened on 11 November 1911. S-train service commenced on 1 November 1934 and was latterly served by trains on Vestbanen and Frederikssundbanen. Until 1923, the station was called ''Vester Fælledvej''. The station closed on 3 July 2016, when it was replaced with a new station 200 metres farther west, named Carlsberg station, which connects to the new residential area being built in the Carlsberg neighbourhood. Kalvebod Brygge
Kalvebod Brygge () is a waterfront area in the Vesterbro, Copenhagen, Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The name also refers to a section of the Ring 2 (Copenhagen), Ring 2 ring road which follows the waterfront from Langebro in the north to the H. C. Ørsted Power Station in the south. The area is dominated by office buildings, Tivoli Conference Center, several hotels and the shopping centre Fisketorvet. Free Port Of Copenhagen
The Free Port of Copenhagen is a bonded area in the northern part of Port of Copenhagen of Copenhagen, Denmark. Created to consolidate Copenhagen's position as an important maritime hub in Northern Europe, it was established in the area just north of the fortress Kastellet and later expanded northwards several times. The original grounds, now known as Søndre Frihavn (English: South Free Port), has since been released for other uses. DGI-byen is a facility that houses various spa facilities, restaurants, hotels, conference facilities, a bowling alley, flexible multi-centres, sports clubs, a superellipse shaped swimming pool and Vandkulturhuset, (Danish for "Water Culture House"), located in central Copenhagen, Denmark. DGI-byen is situated within the Meat District (Kødbyen), a historical industrial area that was transformed into a recreation area for cultural and leisure activities from 1993. However, most of DGI-byen consists of new buildings, in contrast to the rest of the Meat District. One exception is Øksnehallen, formerly a stable for 1,600 cattle, now an exhibition and events venue. First parts of the complex were opened in 1999.
