Ingeborg Steffens
Ingeborg Steffens (October 3, 1907 – April 27, 1982) was a Norwegian actress. Steffens was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She was the daughter of Major General William Steffens (1880–1964) and Anette Eger (1884–1944). She was the first wife of the actor Georg Richter. Steffens was engaged at the Oslo New Theater from 1930 to 1947. Steffens made her film debut in 1951 in Astrid Henning-Jensen's film ''Kranes konditori'' and then starred in '' Ukjent mann'' (1951) and ''Andrine og Kjell'' (1952). Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Georg Lüddeckens Alexander Richter (27 December 1915 – 10 May 1972) was a German-born Norwegian actor. Personal life Richter was born in Berlin to German actor Georg Alexander and Norwegian actress Aud Egede-Nissen. His stepfather was the actor Paul Richter. He was a grandson of politician Adam Egede-Nissen and Goggi Egede-Nissen. His aunts included actresses Gerd Grieg, Ada Kramm, Gøril Havrevold, and Lill Egede-Nissen, and his uncles included actors Oscar Egede-Nissen and Stig Egede-Nissen. His first marriage was with actress Ingeborg Steffens, daughter of military officer William Steffens. His second marriage was to actress Bertha Smedsgaard. William Steffens
William Steffens (5 November 1880 – 1964) was a Norwegian military officer, born in Christiania. He was Major General and commander of the Norwegian 4th Division from 1935. During the Norwegian Campaign in 1940 he was Head of the Armed Forces in Western Norway. He was a delegate in Canada for the Norwegian government-in-exile in London from 1940 to 1941, and was military attaché in the Soviet Union from 1941 to 1945. Biography Steffens became an officer in 1901. Four years later he was in the General Staff, after attending a military college. From 1925 to 1927 he was military attaché in Paris. He sat as a military expert on the committee that prepared disarmament in Geneva in 1930. In 1931, he became commander of Møre Infantry Regiment no. 11 (IR 11) at Molde. Oslo Nye Teater is a theater located in Oslo, Norway. The theater has its main stage in its own theater house at Rosenkrantz' gate 10. It is one of Norway's most visited theatres. Oslo Nye Teater AS is wholly owned by Oslo Municipality. History The theater opened as Det Nye Teater on February 26, 1929. Architects Gudolf Blakstad (1893–1985) and Jens Dunker (1898–1984) were engaged to design the building resulting in a concrete building in a simplified neoclassical style. Astrid Henning-Jensen (born Astrid Smahl; 10 December 1914 – 5 January 2002) was a Danish film director, actress, editor and screenwriter. Early life Henning-Jensen was born in the Copenhagen district of Frederiksberg in 1914, to parents Ferdinand Smahl and Ruth Hanner. She graduated from secondary school (''realskole'') and began working as an actress in the theatre. She acted from 1935 to 1938 in theatres such as ''Alléscenen'' and ''Riddersalen'' in Copenhagen. On 10 August 1938, she married Danish film director Bjarne Henning-Jensen. Career Her marriage to Bjarne Henning-Jensen was of great importance to her career. ''Kranes konditori'' (Krane's Café) is a Norwegian drama film from 1951 directed by Astrid Henning-Jensen. Henning-Jensen also wrote the screenplay, which was based on Cora Sandel's novel of the same name. Plot The film takes place in a small Norwegian coastal town and follows the life of Katinka Stordal ( Rønnaug Alten). The film depicts her loneliness and longing for love. The only man she has ever loved has left her without saying goodbye. From her children she receives neither tenderness nor kindness—only hard, cold demands. Katinka fights to keep her home together.
