Ingebjørg Dahl Sem
Ingebjørg Dahl Sem (born 27 August 1936) is a Norwegian Christian writer. She was born in Gjerpen as a daughter of farmers Karl Dahl (1911–96) and Sigrid Marie Simonsen (1913–1986). In July 1960 she married engineer Søren Sem. She examen artium, finished her secondary education in Skien in 1955, worked in ''Varden (newspaper), Varden'' until 1961 and studied at the Norwegian Journalist Academy from 1958 to 1959. She later studied briefly at the University of Oslo, minoring in Nordic literature in 1971, and attended the Nansen Academy from 1984 to 1985. In the 1960s she was a prolific writer for NRK radio's ''Barnetimen for de minste''. She is mainly known for writing children's books and young adult fiction, with titles such as ''Tenk på Columbus!'' (1976), ''Angår dette meg?'' Ingebjørg Sem
Ingebjørg Sem (1 November 1931 – 31 May 2009) was a Norwegian actress. Life and career She was born in Buffalo, New York as a daughter of dr. Mathias Øvrom Sem (1891–1971) and Solveig Camilla Svensson (1897–1978). In 1952 she married actor Tor Stokke (1928–2003). They had the daughter Linn Stokke. She made her stage debut in 1951 at Trøndelag Teater. After 1955 she worked at Den Nationale Scene (1955–1957), Edderkoppen Theatre, Edderkoppen, Nationaltheatret and Det Norske Teatret (from 1962). She also contributed to Fjernsynsteatret and Radioteatret, and had supporting parts in films such as ''Millionær for en aften'' (1960), ''Hennes meget kongelige høyhet'' (1968) and ''Anton'' (1973). She founded Norsk Teaterforlag in 1977 and Seniorteatret in Oslo in 1985. Nansen Academy
The Nansen Academy – Norwegian Humanistic Academy () is a folk high school in Lillehammer, Norway. History Nansen Academy was founded as a humanist and anti-totalitarian institution. The school was named after polar explorer, scientist, author and humanist Fridtjof Nansen (1861-1930). His work embodied essential elements of humanism: active love of one's neighbour and freedom of thought. The school was established in 1938 by Kristian Vilhelm Koren Schjelderup Jr. (1894–1980) Bishop of the Diocese of Hamar together with future Norwegian Resistance Movement members Anders Platou Wyller (1903-1940) and Henriette Bie Lorentzen (1911–2001). Its first school year started in 1939. It was closed and dissolved during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, after only one year of existence. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' (, abbreviated ''SNL'') is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. It has several subdivisions, including the Norsk biografisk leksikon. ''Varden'' () is a regional newspaper published in Skien, Norway. History and profile The newspaper was first established with a test issue on 17 December 1874, with Johan C. T. Castberg as its first editor-in-chief. It has been published daily since 1895, and in the tabloid format since 2001. As of August 2024, the newspaper's editor-in-chief is Tom Erik Thorsen. Originally, ''Varden'' was owned by individuals. Harald Kristoffersen, its editor-in-chief and owner from 1901, created the limited company AS Varden in 1918. The corporation Orkla Media, later sold to the British media group Mecom and renamed Edda Media, bought the newspaper in 1994.
