Inge Hecht
Inge Hecht (9 March 1949 – 9 October 2019) was a German trade unionist and politician who served in the Landtag of Bavaria from 1994 until 2003. A member of the Social Democratic Party, she represented the . Hecht was a prominent local party organizer, and held long tenures in the Weilheim-Schongau district council and the Raisting municipal council. Biography Inge Hecht was born on 9 March 1949 in the town of Kyllburg in the French-occupied state of Rhineland-Palatinate, though she grew up and lived in the town of Raisting in Bavaria. After completing her compulsary education (''Volksschule'') in 1963, she began vocational training as a retail salesperson. She also worked as an office clerk, and was a member of the IG Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt trade union and the Friends of Nature. Hecht was Catholic, and was married with one child. Landtag Of Bavaria
The Landtag of Bavaria, officially known in English as the Bavarian State Parliament, is the unicameral legislature of the German state of Bavaria. The parliament meets in the Maximilianeum in Munich. Elections to the Landtag are held every five years and have to be conducted on a Sunday or public holiday. The following elections have to be held no earlier than 59 months and no later than 62 months after the previous one, unless the Landtag is dissolved. The most recent elections to the Bavarian Landtag were held on 8 October 2023. Bavaria's current state government, the third Söder cabinet, was formed after the 2023 election and is a coalition of the Christian Social Union (CSU) and the Free Voters (FW). 1998 Bavarian State Election
The 1998 Bavarian state election was held on 13 September 1998 to elect the members of the 14th Landtag of Bavaria. The Christian Social Union (CSU) led by Minister-President Edmund Stoiber retained its majority with minor gains, while the opposition took minor losses. The largest change in the election was the rise in popularity of the Free Voters of Bavaria, who won 3.7% of the vote, but failed to win any seats.
