Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter. Impiety (band)
Impiety is a Singaporean black metal band, formed in early 1990 by Shyaithan (vocals/guitar/bass) and drummer Necro-Angelfornicator. They are notable for being one of the first metal, extreme metal bands to emerge from Singapore. Biography Impiety was originally formed in January 1990 by guitarist/bassist/vocalist Shyaithan and drummer Necro-Angelfornicator, originally heavily influenced by the likes of Hellhammer, Sarcófago, Possessed, Destruction, Bathory, Angelcorpse and early Morbid Angel. The two recorded a rehearsal demo/promo in early 1991, but this was never officially released. After a few line-up changes, the band (now consisting of Shyaithan with guitarist Xxxul and drummer Iblyss) recorded its first official demo, in the form of 1992's ''Ceremonial Necrochrist Redesecration'', which made a name for the band amongst underground tape-traders. Rotting Christ
Rotting Christ is a Greek black metal band formed in 1987. They are noted for being one of the first black metal bands within this region, as well as a premier act within the European underground metal scene. They are also responsible for creating the signature Greek black metal sound prevalent in the early 1990s. History Rotting Christ was founded in 1987 as a grindcore act. Dark Lunacy is an Italian melodic death metal band with symphonic metal influences. From the beginnings (1997) to ''Devoid'' (2000) The band formed in early 1997, when singer Mike and guitarist Enomys first met. Their first self-produced EP, entitled "Silent Storm" (1998) achieved a remarkable approval. The line-up was completed by Baijkal (drums) and Harpad (bass) and in the spring of 1999, the band released a demotape called "Serenity", consisting of 4 tracks in which the support of a real string quartet marked the future sound of Dark Lunacy.
