Indus Telefilm Festival
The Indus Telefilm Festival was a Pakistani film festival held in 2003. The festival showed films that had been filmed the previous year. Seven films were shortlisted for the main competition, the winner of which received a prize of RS 500,000. The event was the first of its kind by the Indus TV Network to promote creativity in storytelling among amateurs as well as professionals, producers and directors. Iqbal Ansari, Director Programmes of Indus TV Network remarked at the conclusion of the Indus Telefilm Festival 2003. "It's up to the director to have the courage to explore various methods. Our objective, which was to encourage diversity of direction and content treatment, was achieved." Jury The festival had a jury composed of writers, directors, actors and journalists to judge the three best telefilms. The cultural history of Karachi dates back at least five thousand years to the rise of the Indus Valley Civilization in the third millennium BC. Lux Style Awards
The Lux Style Awards is an award ceremony which has been held annually in Pakistan since 2002. The ceremony celebrates "style" in the Pakistani entertainment industry, such as Cinema of Pakistan, cinema, television in Pakistan, television, Pakistani clothing, fashion, and music of Pakistan, music. Categories have changed over the years, but most are awarded by panels of judges who are experts in the respective industries, with some "people's choice" awards in the film and TV categories. The 1st Indus Drama Awards
The 1st Indus Drama Awards ceremony, presented by Indus TV Network, sponsored by Dulux, took place on 23 September 2005, at PAF Museum, Karachi. The ceremony was recorded, and was scheduled to be televised in Pakistan and UAE on 1 October 2005, by Indus TV. It was produced by chairman Ghazanfar Ali. The awards were hosted by actor Shahood Alvi and co-hosted by Sehar Imran. Talat Hussain (actor)
Talat Hussain Warsi (18 September 1940 – 26 May 2024) was a Pakistani actor and radio host. The son of Shaista Begum, who was one of the pioneering voices of Radio Pakistan, he was called "the Pakistani Laurence Olivier" for his versatility and his later role as mentor to other actors. Early life and education Talat Hussain was born in Delhi, British India on 18 September 1940, his parents moving to Karachi soon after partition, where his mother Shaista Begum joined Radio Pakistan as a broadcaster. His father was a civil servant. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Islamia College and in 1972 he enrolled in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Bano Qudsia
Bano Qudsia (; 28 November 19284 February 2017), also known as Bano Aapa, was a Pakistani novelist, playwright and spiritualist. She wrote literature in Urdu, producing novels, dramas plays and short stories. Qudsia is best recognized for her novel '' Raja Gidh.'' Qudsia also wrote for television and stage in both Urdu and Punjabi languages. Her play ''Aadhi Baat'' has been called "a classic play." Bano Qudsia died in Lahore on 4 February 2017.
