Indrani Roy
Indrani Roy (born 5 September 1997) is an Indian cricketer. She plays for the Jharkhand women's cricket team in domestic tournaments in India. Roy started playing cricket at the age of 15, and cites MS Dhoni as her idol. She played for the Bengal under-19 team for four years, before signing with Jharkhand in 2014. In 2018, Roy played for the India Blue cricket team, and a year later, also for India C. In the 2019–20 Women's Senior One Day Trophy, Roy scored her first century, an unbeaten 132 runs, in a one-day match. Her match-winning century helped Jharkhand to reach the knock-out phase of the tournament, before the competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2020–21 season, Roy scored two unbeaten centuries in the Senior Women's One Day League. Roy finished the season as the leading run-scorer in the tournament, with 456 runs in eight matches. Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. Women's Test Cricket
Women's Test cricket is the longest format of women's cricket and is the female equivalent to men's Test cricket. Matches comprise four-innings and are held over a maximum of four days between two of the leading cricketing nations. The rules governing the format differ little from those for the men's game, with differences generally being technicalities surrounding umpiring and field size. The first women's Test match was played by England women and Australia women in December 1934, a three-day contest held in Brisbane which England won by nine wickets. The India women's cricket team played against Australia women's cricket team in September and October 2021, ahead of the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day International (WODI) matches in September, a day/night Test match at the Carrara Stadium in Queensland between 30 September and 3 October, and three Women's Twenty20 Internationals in October. Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) is the shortest form of women's international cricket. A women's Twenty20 International is a 20 overs-per-side cricket match between two of the International Cricket Council (ICC) members. The first Twenty20 International match was held in August 2004 between England and New Zealand, six months before the first Twenty20 International match was played between two men's teams. The ICC Women's World Twenty20, the highest-level event in the format, was first held in 2009. In April 2018, the ICC granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. Women's One Day International (WODI) is the limited overs form of women's cricket. Matches are scheduled for 50 overs, equivalent to the men's game. The first women's ODIs were played in 1973, as part of the first Women's World Cup which was held in England. The first ODI saw the hosts beat an International XI. The 1,000th women's ODI took place between South Africa and New Zealand on 13 October 2016.
