Indra Hang Subba is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Sikkim in the 2019 Indian general election as a member of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha. Education Currently, he is a research scholar at Sikkim University pursuing his doctorate in Physics. He has completed his Master of Science. Sikkim (Lok Sabha Constituency)
Sikkim Lok Sabha constituency is a Lok Sabha (lower house of the Indian parliament) constituency which covers the entire area of the state of Sikkim. Sikkim participated in its first general elections in 1977 after joining the Union in 1975. Its first member of parliament (MP) was Chatra Bahadur Chhetri of the Indian National Congress who was elected unopposed. The current MP is Indra Hang Subba, who has represented the constituency since 2019. His term is expected to end in May 2024. The Lok Sabha, constitutionally the House of the People, is the lower house of India's bicameral Parliament, with the upper house being the Rajya Sabha. Members of the Lok Sabha are elected by an adult universal suffrage and a first-past-the-post system to represent their respective constituencies, and they hold their seats for five years or until the body is dissolved by the President on the advice of the council of ministers. Prem Das Rai
Prem Das Rai (born 31 July 1954) is an Indian politician from the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party. Rai was a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from the Sikkim constituency of Sikkim, India, first elected in 2009 election and re-elected in 2014 after serving his first term in 2009-2014. In 2019 Lok Sabha election he did not get the ticket from SDF. He has the distinction of being the first Member of Parliament with both Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Management degrees. In 2002, he was awarded the prestigious and selective Eisenhower Fellowship (USA) for his contribution to Sikkim's economic and industrial growth. He is married to Jean Chun Ping Rai. They have two children, both who work in Singapore. Rai is widely traveled. Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (translation: ''Sikkim Revolutionary Front'') is a political party in the Indian state of Sikkim which was the ruling party of Sikkim in 2020. P.S. Golay, a former member of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, was one of the prominent figures of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) and was a minister in the government of Sikkim. Since December 2009 he has been a vocal critic of Pawan Kumar Chamling, the President of the SDF and the former chief minister of Sikkim. 2019 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to elect the members of the 17th Lok Sabha. Votes were counted and the result was declared on 23 May. Around 912 million people were eligible to vote, and voter turnout was over 67 percent – the highest ever, as well as the highest ever participation by women voters.
