Egyptian Language
The Egyptian language, or Ancient Egyptian (; ), is an extinct branch of the Afro-Asiatic languages that was spoken in ancient Egypt. It is known today from a large corpus of surviving texts, which were made accessible to the modern world following the decipherment of the ancient Egyptian scripts in the early 19th century. Egyptian is one of the earliest known written languages, first recorded in the hieroglyphic script in the late 4th millennium BC. Bobby Kertanegara
Bobby Kertanegara (adopted 2017) is a domestic shorthaired tabby cat, known for being the pet of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. After being adopted as a stray at Prabowo's residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, Bobby quickly became a familiar presence during political events and social media appearances. Following Prabowo’s inauguration as President on 20 October 2024, Bobby moved into the Merdeka Palace. Adoption Bobby was initially found as a stray around 2017 near Prabowo's residence in Jakarta. After adopting him, Prabowo named him Bobby, after Jalan Kertanegara IV. Bobby lived with Prabowo's family and was frequently seen during gatherings and meetings with political figures. Gacek On The Walk
Gacek (Polish: ) is a male domestic cat with tuxedo fur. Between 2020 and 2023, this homeless cat was a tourist attraction in Szczecin, Poland. In 2020, a video of Gacek was distributed around the world on social media. Tourists came to see Gacek in his usual location on Kaszubska street. He became over-fed, suffering obesity related conditions. Gacek was rescued by an animal shelter and recovered his health. Popularity Local residents recall first seeing Gacek on Kaszubska street in the town centre in about 2013. A wooden booth was built there to give him shelter. In 2020, a German tourist uploaded a video of Gacek to YouTube. The video was shared to millions of viewers around the world. The international news media reported Gacek's popularity. Reuters called Gacek the "Kim Kardashian of the cat world", because many Gacek-themed merchandised appeared for sale on the street. Polydactyl Cat
A polydactyl cat is a cat with a congenital physical anomaly called polydactyly (also known as polydactylism or hyperdactyly), which causes the cat to be born with more than the usual number of toes on one or more of its paws. Cats with this genetically inherited trait are most commonly found along the East Coast of North America (in the United States and Canada) and in South West England and Wales. Occurrence Polydactyly is a congenital abnormality that can be inherited in an autosomal dominant manner. Some cases of polydactyly are caused by mutations in the ZRS, a genetic enhancer that regulates expression of the sonic hedgehog (SHH) gene in the limb. Paddles (cat)
Paddles (2016 – 7 November 2017) was a ginger and white polydactyl cat owned by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her partner Clarke Gayford. Paddles had a profile on Twitter and was known in politics as the "First Cat". Biography Paddles was a rescue cat, adopted by Ardern from a branch of the SPCA. She became a celebrity as the "First Cat" after Ardern took office, and a Twitter account was established in her name. Ardern said that she did not know who created the account. When U.S. President Donald Trump phoned Ardern to congratulate her for becoming Prime Minister in October 2017, Paddles interrupted the conversation. Te Aro (formerly also known as Te Aro Flat) is an inner-city suburb of Wellington, New Zealand. It comprises the southern part of the Wellington Central, central business district including the majority of the city's entertainment district and covers the mostly flat area of city between The Terrace and Cambridge Terrace at the base of Mount Victoria (Wellington hill), Mount Victoria. Turkish Angora
The Turkish Angora (, 'Ankara cat') is a breed of domestic cat. Turkish Angoras are one of the ancient, natural breeds of cat, having originated in central Anatolia ( Ankara Province in modern-day Turkey). The breed has been documented as early as the 17th century. Outside the United States, the breed is usually referred to as simply the Angora or Ankara cat. These cats have slender and elegant bodies. Mittens (cat)
Mittens is a domestic cat, formerly of Wellington, New Zealand, who wandered in Te Aro and the city's central business district. A feline flâneur, he roams up to from his home. Selfie pictures with the cat have become a desired item for locals. Mittens is occasionally taken to the SPCA or the police. Originally from the suburbs of Auckland, he has become a social media celebrity since he, his late brother Latte, and their owner Silvio Bruinsma moved to the capital city in 2017. He featured on the 2018 edition of the Wellington Advent Calendar, an online calendar counting down the days before Christmas. Bionics or biologically inspired engineering is the application of biological methods and systems found in nature to the study and design of engineering systems and modern technology.
