The Indian Volley League was a professional volleyball league in India and the only Volleyball League in India recognised by Volleyball Federation of India. Retrieved 2011-06-24 It was launched by the Volleyball Federation of India in 2011. The inaugural edition featured six teams and the top players in the country. It has currently been replaced by the Prime Volleyball League. Volleyball Competitions In India
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. Pro Volleyball League
Pro Volleyball League (PVL) was a professional men's indoor volleyball league in India. The inaugural season took place in February 2019. The league was an initiative between the Volleyball Federation of India, Head Digital Works Pvt. Ltd. anBaseline Ventures The inaugural season of the league was won by Chennai Spartans. Later in the year 2022 the league was rebranded as Prime Volleyball League. Structure The Pro Volleyball League encompassed six franchises, representing cities across India. All teams filed tenders with Baseline Ventures, listing the two cities they would be interested in bidding for. The teams were officially announced at a press conference in Mumbai. YSR Indoor Stadium is an indoor sporting arena located in Yanam, which is part of Union Territory of Pondichery, India. The capacity of the arena is 2,000 people.
