Indian Pop
Indian pop music, also known as I-pop or Indi-pop, refers to pop music produced in India that is independent from filmi soundtracks for Indian cinema. Indian pop is closely linked to Bollywood, Tollywood, Pollywood, Kollywood and the Asian Underground scene of the United Kingdom. The variety of South Asian music from different countries are generally known as Desi music. History Pop music originated in Pakistan with the playback singer Ahmed Rushdi's song "" in 1966 and has since then been adopted in India, Bangladesh, and lately Sri Lanka, and Nepal as a pioneering influence in their respective pop cultures. Euphoria (Indian Band)
Euphoria ( Bangla: ইউফোরিয়া, Hindi: युफ़ोरिया) is an Indian pop rock band formed by Palash Sen in 1998 in Delhi, India. The name "Euphoria", is a term used in Psychiatry to describe a feeling one gets in the state of Mania, was decided upon by Sen, who at the time was a student of medicine at the University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi. Euphoria has released 7 studio albums. They have released 16 singles by adopting the DIY method, and embracing the digital revolution in the music industry. They were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012 by the Indian Recording Arts Academy at the Palm Expo in Mumbai. Alongside jaunty pop rock songs, Euphoria have also been known to produce music with a satirical message. Ko Ko Korina
"Ko Ko Korina" (Urdu:) is a song which appeared in the 1966 Urdu-language film '' Armaan'' and is considered the first pop song of Pakistan, and often of all South Asia. Produced during the Golden Age of Pakistani cinema, the song's lyrics were written by Masroor Anwar and the music composed by Sohail Rana. Ahmed Rushdi was the playback singer, with actor Waheed Murad lip-syncing. Background In 1966, actor-producer Waheed Murad made his film ''Armaan'' in which Sohail Rana came up with a pop song "Ko ko Korina" which got a full house success not only all over the country but also all over South Asia. Ahmed Rushdi
Ahmed Rushdi (; 24 April 1934 – 11 April 1983) was a versatile Pakistani playback singer and was "an important contributor to the Cinema of Pakistan#The Golden Era (1959–1977), golden age of Pakistani film music". Regarded as one of the greatest singers in South Asia who could sing high tenor notes with ease, he is best known for his versatility and distinctive voice, with complex and dark emotional expressions. Considered the first pop singer of South Asia, he sang South Asia's first Pop music, pop song, "Ko Ko Korina", in the 1966 film ''Armaan (1966 film), Armaan''.
