Inderøya
Inderøya is a peninsula in the Trondheimsfjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The peninsula constitutes the northern (more populated) part of the municipality of Inderøy (which is named after the peninsula). The peninsula borders the Beitstadfjorden to the north, the Børgin fjord to the east, the Skarnsund strait to the west, and the Trondheimsfjord to the south. It is connected to the mainland via a narrow strip of land to the northeast. Inderøy is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Innherad region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Straumen. Other villages include Framverran, Gangstadhaugen, Hylla, Kjerknesvågen, Kjerringvik, Røra, Sakshaug, Sandvollan, Småland, Trongsundet, Utøy, Vangshylla, and Venneshamn. The municipality is primarily an agricultural community, but also has some industry. The municipality is the 246th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Børgin or Borgenfjorden is a fjord branch in the eastern part of Trondheimsfjorden in the municipalities of Steinkjer and Inderøy in Trøndelag county, Norway. The long fjord is about wide, although the mouth of the fjord is only wide. The mouth of the fjord is by the village of Straumen and there is a bridge across the fjord at its narrowest point. Beitstadfjorden
Beitstadfjorden () is the innermost arm of the Trondheimsfjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the municipalities of Steinkjer, Inderøy, and a small part extends into Indre Fosen. The fjord has a length of from southwest to northeast, and a width of about . The fjord begins at the Skarnsund strait in the south and extends northeast to the city of Steinkjer. On the far western part of the fjord, the Verrasundet strait extends south to the village of Verrabotn in Indre Fosen, while in the north the Beitstad strait stretches northward past the villages of Malm, Beitstad, and Vellamelen. Skarnsund
Skarnsund or Skarnsundet is a strait in the Trondheimsfjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The strait connects the Beitstadfjorden with the outer section of the Trondheimsfjorden. The long and wide Skarnsund is located in the municipality of Inderøy. On the northeastern side of the strait is the village of Vangshylla and on the southwestern side is the villages of Venneshamn and Kjerringvik (this side is the Mosvik area of Inderøy). The strait has a strong tidal current with a maelstrom. The Skarnsund strait was crossed by the Vangshylla–Kjerringvik Ferry ( car ferry), operated by Innherredsferja, prior to 19 December 1991. A strait is an oceanic landform connecting two seas or two other large areas of water. Røra
Røra is a village in Inderøy municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located on a small peninsula between the Trondheimsfjorden and the Børgin fjord. The village is located about north of the town of Verdalsøra and about south of the town of Steinkjer. The village of Hylla lies just south of Røra and the municipal centre of Straumen lies a short distance to the west. The European route E6 highway and the Nordlandsbanen railway line both run through the village, with the train stopping at Røra Station. Mosvik
Mosvik is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality was part of the Innherred region. The municipality existed from 1901 until its dissolution in 2012. The old municipality encompassed the southern part of what is now the municipality of Inderøy in Trøndelag county. The municipality was located along the western shore of the Trondheimsfjorden and on the southwestern end of the Beitstadfjorden. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Mosvik where Mosvik Church is located.
