Independent Party (Argentina)
The Independent Party () was a short-lived Peronist political party in Argentina. It was founded in 1945, ahead of the 1946 Argentine general election, 1946 general election, to support the candidacy of General Juan Perón to the presidency. It was founded by Rear Admiral Alberto Teisaire, who was later elected as Vice President of Argentina. The Independent Party was one of three political parties backing Perón's 1946 candidacy, alongside the Labour Party (Argentina), Labour Party and the Junta Renovadora Radical Civic Union (a faction of the Radical Civic Union). With 56% of the vote, Perón was victorious and became president of Argentina. The three political parties delegated their joint coordination to a "National Board of Political Coordination", presided by Juan Atilio Bramuglia. United Independent Party
The United Independent Party or UIP was a political party based in Massachusetts, United States. The chairman of the UIP was Evan Falchuk, a former health care executive who submitted enough signatures to be on the 2014 gubernatorial ballot. When the party and Falchuk announced their intention to run in 2014, it billed itself as pragmatically progressive and fiscally sensible. The party won more than 3% of the vote in the 2014 gubernatorial ballot and was officially recognized in Massachusetts as a major party, alongside Democrats, Republicans, and the Green-Rainbow Party. Following the 2014 election, the party announced that it would seek to enroll 50,000 Massachusetts residents in the UIP by the end of 2015. The UIP was spearheading an effort to have a referendum on the Boston bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics before the bid was withdrawn. The Independent Party of Oregon (IPO) is a centrist political party in the U.S. state of Oregon with more than 140,000 registrants since its inception in January 2007. The IPO is Oregon's third-largest political party and the first political party other than the Democratic Party and Republican Party to be recognized by the state of Oregon as a major political party. Since 2009, the party has had multiple city and local officials elected as members. In 2021 State Senator Brian Boquist, a former Republican, became the only Independent member of the state legislature.
