Independent Higher Education
Independent Higher Education is a representative body for some Higher education, higher education institutions in the United Kingdom. It represents 'independent' providers of higher education, generally those that are non-university, international, or For-profit education, for-profit institutions. It is one of the sector bodies consulted by the UK Government on issues such as free speech at universities and the admission of students during the Covid pandemic. The chief executive of Independent Higher Education is a member of the Department for Business and Trade's Education Sector Advisory Group. IHE is governed by a board of directors. Tertiary education (higher education, or post-secondary education) is the educational level following the completion of secondary education. The World Bank defines tertiary education as including universities, colleges, and vocational schools. ''Higher education'' is taken to include undergraduate and postgraduate education, while vocational education beyond secondary education is known as ''further education'' in the United Kingdom, or included under the category of ''continuing education'' in the United States. Inchbald School Of Design
The Inchbald School of Design was founded in Chelsea, London, England in 1960 by Jacqueline Ann Duncan (then Jacqueline Inchbald, married to and working with designer Michael Inchbald), in the family home at 10 Milner Street. Description The impetus for this project arose as a result of a London visit by a group of American designers under the aegis of the American Institute of Designers (AID) on their way to Venice. Prominent among them was the New York designer William Pahlmann, who expressed surprise that England did not have either a formalised professional body or any specific educational centre for interior design training. Jacqueline researched the possibility of a school and this coincided with a burgeoning interest in interiors in the climate of resuscitation in the post war years. Norland College
Norland College is a British higher education provider based in Bath, Somerset. The college specialises in childcare, and is widely known for its prestigious training of nannies, nursery nurses and other childcare professionals, who are employed worldwide. Norland nannies are seen as a status symbol and are popular among celebrities and royals. Alumni are termed "Norlanders". MetFilm School (MFS) is a private film school headquartered at Ealing Studios in London, United Kingdom. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as short courses in filmmaking, screenwriting, and related disciplines.
