Independent Fundamental Baptists
Independent Baptist churches (also called Independent Fundamental Baptists or IFB) are Christian congregations that generally hold to fundamentalist or conservative views of Evangelical Christianity and Baptist beliefs, such as believer's baptism, individual soul liberty and the priesthood of all believers. The term “independent” refers to the doctrinal position of church autonomy and a refusal to join any affiliated Baptist denominations or non-Baptist association, though they usually maintain some sort of fellowship with like-minded churches. As Fundamentalists, these churches are strongly opposed to the ecumenical movement. Around 3% of the United States adult population belongs to the Independent Baptist movement, half of whom live in the Southern United States. World Baptist Fellowship
The World Baptist Fellowship (WBF) is a separatist fundamentalist Independent Baptist organization. The organization was founded by J. Frank Norris (1877–1952) of Texas, a southern fundamentalist leader in the first half of the 20th century. It is headquartered in Arlington, Texas. History J. Frank Norris became a combatant in the fundamentalist/modernist controversy. He edited a paper entitled ''The Fundamentalist''. Both the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist General Convention of Texas expelled Norris because of his controversial behavior. Norris, C. P. Staley and others formed the Premillennial Missionary Baptist Fellowship in 1933 at Fort Worth, Texas.William H.
