Independent Art Fair
The Independent Art Fair was established in New York City in 2010 by gallerist Elizabeth Dee as a means of challenging the typical format of art fairs. It is typically held during Armory Week in March, and more than one third of its exhibitors come from outside the United States. The fair has been held in venues across the city, including Spring Studios in 2019. Elizabeth Dee
Elizabeth Dee is an American art gallery owner. She is the founder of Independent Art Fair and the Elizabeth Dee Gallery. Art career Gallery The gallery has exhibited artists Alex Bag, Mark Barrow, Derek Jarman, Harry Dodge and Stanya Kahn, Jeff Keen, Miranda Lichtenstein, Virgil Marti, Ryan McNamara, Josephine Meckseper, Carl Ostendarp, Adrian Piper, Meredyth Sparks, and Ryan Trecartin, amongst many others. The Armory Show (art Fair)
The Armory Show is an international art fair in New York City, known as New York's Art Fair. Established in 1994 as the Gramercy International Art Fair by dealers Colin De Land, Pat Hearn, Lisa Spellman, Matthew Marks Gallery, Matthew Marks and Paul Morris, the annual fair is now held every fall for four days and attracts crowds of 65,000. Battery Maritime Building
The Battery Maritime Building is a building at South Ferry (Manhattan), South Ferry on the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City. Located at 10 South Street (Manhattan), South Street, near the intersection with Whitehall Street, it contains an operational Passenger terminal (maritime), ferry terminal at ground level, as well as a hotel and event space on the upper stories. The ground story contains three ferry slips that are used for excursion trips and ferries to Governors Island, as well as commuter trips to Port Liberté, Jersey City. The upper stories contain the Cipriani South Street event space, operated by Cipriani S.A., and a 47-room hotel called Casa Cipriani. The Beaux-Arts architecture, Beaux-Arts building was built from 1906 to 1909 and designed by the firm Walker and Morris as the easternmost section of the partially completed Whitehall Street Ferry Terminal.
