Inam-ul-Haq (Lahore Cricketer)
Inam-ul-Haq (born September 8, 1943) was a Pakistani cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler and wicket-keeper. He was born in Lahore. Inam made his first-class debut in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy competition of 1969/70, playing for Lahore B, for whom he took one wicket, and scored a duck in the only innings in which he batted. Inam didn't make another first-class appearance for more than three years, playing for Pakistan Customs. Ul-Haq made six appearances for Pakistan Customs over the next four seasons, achieving a top score of 48 in his final first-class appearance, against Sargodha in 1975/76. Inam, who started his career in the lower order, moved to the opening order by the end of his career. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket.
