''In a Warzone'' is the third album by the American punk rock/hip hop band Transplants. It was premiered as a stream on ''Rolling Stones website on June 17, 2013 and released via Epitaph Records on June 25, 2013. Recording sessions took place at Opra Music Studios and The Boat in Los Angeles. Audio production of the record was entirely handled by the Transplants with Christopher Holmes. Transplants (band)
The Transplants are an American punk rock and rap rock supergroup. They formed in 1999 when Tim Armstrong (of the bands Rancid and Operation Ivy) played his friend and roadie Rob Aston some beats he had made using Pro Tools and asked Aston if he would consider contributing lyrics. Initially, Armstrong played all the instruments himself, but as the project grew, he invited musician friends such as Matt Freeman (Operation Ivy, Rancid), Lars Frederiksen (Rancid), and Vic Ruggiero ( The Slackers) to add to the sound. Before long, Armstrong and Aston decided to officially form a band, but to make things complete, they wanted a drummer, so Travis Barker from Blink-182 was asked to join in 2002. Rancid (band)
Rancid is an American punk rock band formed in Berkeley, California, in 1991. Founded by Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, former members of the band Operation Ivy, Rancid is often credited (alongside Green Day and the Offspring) as being among the wave of bands that revived mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. Over its -year career, Rancid has retained much of its original fan-base, most of which was connected to its underground musical roots. Rancid has had two lineup changes since its inception, with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman being continuous members. James Ingram
James Edward Ingram (February 16, 1952 – January 29, 2019) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He was a two-time Grammy Award-winner and a two-time Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song. Kevin Bivona (born November 8, 1986) is an American multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer best known for his work with Tim Armstrong's various musical projects, particularly the Transplants and Rancid. He is currently the guitarist for the ska punk band the Interrupters. Early career In 2005, Bivona became the touring keyboard player for The Transplants on the Vans Warped Tour. Following the Warped Tour, he began to work around Los Angeles as a recording engineer. Robert Aston (born October 29, 1978), better known by his stage name Skinhead Rob, is an American rapper best known as a founding member of the rap rock group the Transplants. He is also the lead vocalist in a D-beat punk band named Death March and a former member of hip-hop group Expensive Taste. Career Aston's career began as a roadie for bands Boot Party, AFI, and Rancid. He eventually started a solo career, releasing the song "Show Me". Timothy Ross Armstrong (born November 25, 1965) is an American musician, songwriter and record producer. Known for his distinctive voice, he is the singer/guitarist for the punk rock band Rancid (band), Rancid and hip hop/punk rock supergroup Transplants (band), Transplants. Prior to forming Rancid, Armstrong was in the ska punk band Operation Ivy (band), Operation Ivy. In 1997, along with Brett Gurewitz of the band Bad Religion and owner of Epitaph Records, Armstrong founded Hellcat Records. In 2012, through his website, Armstrong started releasing music that influenced him, along with stripped-down cover songs of his own under the name Tim Timebomb. Expensive Taste (styled as Expen$ive Taste) was an American hip hop super-group formed by Paul Wall, Skinhead Rob ( Transplants), and Travis Barker ( The Aquabats, Blink-182, Box Car Racer, +44 and Transplants). Expensive Taste released a 15-track mixtape for free from a newly registered website. Travis Barker said on his Twitter blog that two new songs would be available soon on iTunes.
